I've stayed at Ritz-Carltons in multiple cities, and this, by far, is the worst. Rooms were not as clean as expected, service wasn't great - I asked where to get coffee, came downstairs, and was escorted past the free table of coffee in the lobby to a convenience store thing where the girl was angry I existed. Not the typical Ritz service, for sure. Albeit, I must say that we asked for a cooler and the lady who brought us one was fabulous. It was very large, but we wanted one for our sight -seeing tour that said we could bring beer. A++ for her, but that's as far as our accolades for this place go.
Enjoyed staying here for 3 nights on a business trip. Room was very comfortable, room service food and service excellent. Could get a taxi from out front without waiting. Central Charlotte location convenient for the short time I had for site seeing - Nascar Museum and Cougars Stadium. Great gym, lovely pool. I read reviews before booking and asked about noise. Apparently if you ask for a room with an even number, that means you're at the back - less noisy. Thank you Ritz-Carlton - you made my visit so much easier.
As a Titanium Bonvoy member, I have come to expect the usual excellent service from the brand, however the Ritz Carlton Charlotte is truly exceptional. The service level of this hotel is incredible. Even before arrival the reception and management helped arrange for our requested accommodations and even checked for our estimated arrival time to ensure availability. Upon check in the excellent service continued with a fantastic upgrade and fresh fruit and personal note waiting. Much to our pleasant surprise, Desi from the bell staff arranged for a sweet gift for our 6 year old daughter after he had a hilarious interaction with her (My wife and I are still chuckling about it!) Just great attention to service details. The property itself is exceptional. An oasis in a super active part of the city. The rooms are stylishly decorated and spacious. Our favorite was relaxing in the stylish pool, hot tub and relaxation area. Very well decorated and spa like. Service at the restaurant was exceptional as well. I ran up some food to the kids while we were having time on our own, and the staff placed my steak warming in the kitchen, a nice touch. The SpeakEasy was super cool concept. The treat shop in the lobby was amazing and the staff so nice to the kids. We went twice a day! While no concierge, the desk staff were enthusiastic and helpful the entire stay. Doorman, bell hop, valet, maids, all staff down to the last person outstanding. Management is to be commended for cultivating such a great culture of service. Great location... however .... If you are very noise sensitive, definitely recommend you asking for a room away from the EpiCenter if possible. Had a great dinner at La Belle Helene which is walking distance. A wonderful testament to the Ritz Carlton brand and highly highly recommended.
Staff is extremely helpful, and service is exactly what you expect out of Ritz. Rooms were very clean, and the property is conveniently located in the center of uptown Charlotte. If your room faces the Epicenter, it can get a loud at night. Is very loud until about 11pm, then it dies down, but you can still hear it until about 1am. Try to ask for a room away from the epicenter if that’s going to bother you.
We celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary this past weekend. During our stay, there were a few hiccups but the staff, especially Veda Payton, went above and beyond to ensure that our weekend remained special. Ms. Payton spoke to us personally more than once to discuss our concerns and worked with the staff to correct things quickly. She was extremely personable and genuine in ensuring our visit was positive; she made us feel that we were valued guests. There were several surprises along the way that made the hiccups become afterthoughts. Staff members throughout the weekend gave us well wishes for our anniversary, which made us feel quite special. The spa was wonderful; the attendants in both lounges were polite and helpful! My husband and I enjoyed a couple's massage; both ladies were amazing (I can only remember Anna's name). Along with us during our stay were our daughters who enjoyed the pool, fitness center, breakfast at BLT, and gelato from the Bar Cocoa. I'd like to also mention the renovations; we noticed them almost immediately, making the rooms look updated and fresh as we've stayed in the past. With the service we received, we are looking forward to another visit in the near future!
I would never ever stay in this hotel again. All the reviews about the noise level on Friday and Saturday nights is an understatement. It is 1:58 AM as I write this review, and the music is still blaring from the infamous epicenter across the street. Ritz Carlton should divest of this property because it is tarnishing their brand and there is nothing they can do about it apparently. It doesn’t matter how nice and well trained the people are or how nice the hotel is, at the end of the day you come to a hotel to get a good nights sleep. We spent two torturous nights where the window banging noise simply can’t be described. What makes it even worse is that we had read all the reviews regarding the weekend noise level and requested a quiet room. We were told we had one. My guess is there’s not a quiet room in this hotel on a Friday and Saturday night. About the best that they can offer you is a set of earplugs. Again I would never stay in this hotel again and recommend that you don’t either. Don’t waste your hard-earned money.
Upon check-in we were advised that our room faced the Epic Center and there would be some noise. That is an understatement. The music was SO loud and went on until 2 am. When I checked with the staff they said the music would stop by 11 pm. The hotel and staff are what you would expect from the Ritz but they should have been upfront about the noise level and duration. Upon my complaint we were not offered a different room and if I would have know the music would last until 2am we would have left. Therefore I would NOT recommend staying there on the weekends in the summer as the noise is unbearable.
Top notch, centrally located hotel. Exactly what you’d expect from an expensive 5 star, high-end hotel. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, nice linens, large bathroom (complete with a tv screen in the bathroom mirror and an extra deep bathtub). We had a nice view of the street where people go to hang out on the weekend, with easy walkable access to shops and restaurants and the basketball arena/concert venue right next door. So close in fact, that a professional basketball team and the singer Pink were staying at our hotel while we were there because they had a game and a concert going on right next door. The lobby has random pop-up “bars” each night, one night it was a candy bar, one night it was a donut bar. I missed the other ones. The lobby bar has live music at night, with lots of seating and plenty of wait staff bringing drinks. Locals seem to come there to hang out, which makes it a bit crowded, but also makes it so there’s a lively fun atmosphere without having to leave the hotel looking for entertainment. The only fault I can give this hotel is that the smoke from the steakhouse travels up the stairs to the conference areas and into the lobby and is really overwhelming. Your hair and clothes will smell like smoke, and if you’re extra sensitive to smoke, your throat will hurt. There’s a venting issue somewhere that should be addressed. Otherwise, perfect hotel, and what you’d expect for $500+/night.
It's always nice to get exactly what you expect and the Ritz Carlton in Charlotte delivers. From the front desk to valet to room service, there is courtesy and professionalism galore. The rooms (I splurged on a suite) are tastefully done and very spacious. Bathrooms are big. Beds are incredibly comfortable. Room service offers a breadth of selection and high quality. LOVED the gym which is as complete as any gym you go to at home and, at least when I worked out, empty! Not sure how this place could be improved. BTW, I'm a Titanium Elite so have fairly high standards for hotels!
Great hotel as always but the lack of a rooftop bar compared to others we have been to was disappointing. Come for the impeccable Ritz rooms but know there are very nice hotels close by with more going on.
