the pictures are nothing like the photos you see here...they do not have different flavors of hot chocolate with marshmallo scewers, and they do not have a big variety of desserts. when i was there theyhad about six different fancy pastries and a case full of macaroons..... i got a macaroon and it was just ok did not taste fresh...coffee was good though...would not go back..Amelies bakery down the street is off the chain, save your money and go there..
This property is very different from other Ritz experiences- staff were generally rude and did not apologize although I wasn’t allowed to check in until 8:00PM. There was no advance notification provided that rooms wouldn’t be ready until 5 hours after the stated check-in time at the hotel. Once I did finally get to my room I found lightbulbs that didn’t work, no coffee pods for the in-room machine, and a terribly dated room with torn wallpaper and stained carpets. I also had the very first room off the elevator even though I requested to be placed away from the elevator if possible (I realize requests are just that- a request is not guaranteed but this couldn’t have been any further from what I asked for, and when it’s 5 hours late it stings that much more). I used the complementary overnight shoe-shine service only to have my shoes not delivered until 30 minutes late the next morning and only after I called to the front desk for someone to find them. I realize these complaints pertain to nice amenities (such as in-room Nespresso and a shoe shine service) but the execution by the staff and inattention to detail is unlike anything I’ve experienced at other Ritz locations. Making things worse was a consistently rude and unapologetic staff- check-in, check-out, and whomever was in charge of the shoe shine (yes, I did in fact check outside my door before calling- why would I still be calling if they were there??) were nothing close to what one should reasonably expect at even a mid range hotel. This place has a ton of room for improvement. Don’t waste your money (even if your company is paying)...it’s not worth the headache and disappointment.
We stayed here for a fun night without kids. The rooms were nice and clean - my husband liked the tv in the bathroom mirror. The restaurant was excellent and the cocoa bar made us sipping chocolate on request which was amazing! We also got massages in the spa - very nice but we prefer spas where we can hang out together around the services and this spa keeps the men and women in separate areas.
Always a treat staying at the Ritz. Top notch professional staff...aim to please. Super clean rooms await. Unfortunately there was a fire truck blasting horns and sirens at two a.m. across the street, but luckily able to fall back to sleep. We also had a delicious dinner at their BLK Steak restaurant there(see review). We were so happy to end our two week road trip with a wonderful breakfast at the BLT. An excellent stay...definitely recommend if you want to do it up right. Valet parking.
Stayed 2 nights this past week while in town for business. Staff is very nice. My room 1608 was also mostly nice. I love the bed and linens. Love the tv in the mirror in the bathroom. Plenty of hangars in the closet and towels in the bathroom. Pretty much what I expect when I stay at a Ritz. What was highly unusual was the sewage smell in the bathroom. I could find nothing wrong with the toilet or the shower or bath tub. I mentioned it the next morning at the front desk when I left for my meeting and expected to be moved to another room later in the day. When I returned to the room it didn't smell as bad but it was clear the bathroom had been sprayed and the bathroom door left open to air it out. I stayed in the room and did not ask to be moved because it was tolerable and it was late. By morning the smell was slightly stronger. If I were staying a 3rd night, I would have asked to be moved and I'm sure if I had asked to be moved, I would have been. I should not have assumed they would offer to move me...my mistake. Everything else was perfect.
The ritz Carlton was everything and did not disappoint the stay was excellent my husband and I had the best experience and would do it more often. We are from charlotte and the ritz is our favorite place to stay in charlotte
This is a 5 star hotel!!! They make you feel like you are the only one that matters, the spa is my favorite in the Charlotte area! If anything goes wrong they do anything to make it better. The bar on the 15th floor is so cool!!
Amazing service, room and experience! We've just created a new tradition! We were upgraded for free for our anniversary and allowed late check out. The spa services were on-time and on-point and the spa itself had some great amenities!
For a $600+/night hotel near Christmas explore your options....Bed was not comfortable. Clerk at checkout attempted to charge our card 3 times for stay, Caused fraud alert on bank, had to call bank to clear up. Hotel still left double charge for the stay that took several days to remove.....Gingerbread house in lobby was neat but people taking photos in front of it all the time was inconvenient in the small lobby...Staff was friendly and location is great...This was out second time staying and we will explore other options downtown next time...
This hotel is located at the heart of the Queen City, walking distance from the most of the main business in town. Iowa’s really impressed by the Christmas Decoration. The ginger bread house is simply amazing. Great Holliday decoration.
