Overall not bad. The room was clean but really old and worn. Not what I would have expected for a Marriott property in Uptown Charlotte. It was more comparable to what you may find along interstate for a quick stop in overnight-not a place for a nicer night out or business trip. Breakfast was traditional Marriott style and was good, area was clean and well-staffed. Gentleman checking us in at Front desk was also lovely.

I usually stay at City Center Marriott, but stayed here because colleague was staying at this location. Check in was easy- the young lady who checked me in, Mendez is excellent. Lobby/restaurant/all very clean & modern. Per staff, hotel 1 year old. Room was large (per staff, I was upgraded, but had appearance of most Fairfields. Walk in shower, large bath. King size bed was comfortable. I was on side of hotel by freeway, and although no upper floor, much more freeway noise than one would expect. More expansive breakfast than most Fairfields- scrambled eggs & omelets, oatmeal & grits, biscuits & gravy. Check out was easy & bill was correct. I didn't park, but my colleague did & exiting the structure was easy. Will return when in Charlotte

The staff in all areas did a great job. The room appeared to be recently renovated and clean. The elevators responded quickly and the outdoor pool was nice and well kept. The buffet breakfast was good and the staff attentive. The free shuttle arrived quickly and we did not use our car during the stay. Uptown Charlotte was a blast!

When I first arrived with my boyfriend to park in the parking lot, the gate would not open. I went into the hotel to inform one of the staff that the gate was not working. He reported to another staff member (tall, white, older woman with shoulder length blonde hair) about it, and she assisted me. She helped to check me in and asked for my name, and I told her but she could not find me in the system. I told her maybe it may be because I booked through Priceline and she checked again. I looked at my Priceline reservation ticket and said to her that I put my boyfriend's name and I didn't realize I did that because I booked the reservations late last night. She had the most sarcastic attitude "Oh well, that would help, wouldn't it? I stepped to the side because I didn't want to hold up the line and told my boyfriend (He's white) to come in and she greets him with a smile and calls him Mr. and all. Since I'm the one paying for the hotel, I give her my credit card, and I pull out the one ID that I knew was going to change her attitude towards me, my military ID card. She did a complete 360 in her attitude and said oh, you're in the military and I said yes, the Air Force. She gave me free parking for my entire stay, which is the least she could do for being rude. What if I didn't have my military ID card? I would never have received free parking. The room was clean, but due to the hotel's location, there was a lot of outside noise. The breakfast was good for it to be free. If I am honest, due to the experience with that one particular staff member, I will never stay there again or even recommend this hotel for anyone to stay there.

I am writing this review as I am leaving the hotel after paying for one night. The exterior of the hotel is downright insulting. How can a company like Marriott own a place like this? This place is falling apart and I dont think the management team understands that. It was raining upon my arrival and the parking lot was full of water due to cracks in the ceiling. And parking was 20 something dollars a day. My hotel room smelled like it hasn't been cleaned in years. It smelled so badly that I had to leave and go spend the night at another hotel. I am beyond disappointed, dissatisfied and downright disappointed mad at myself for choosing marriott over Hilton. This place should be closed for repair instead of charging people mad money and not letting you cancel your reservation. Please do yourself a favor and dont go there. Please!

I expected more from this hotel. There are 2 elevators, but one was out of service which is just unacceptable for a hotel with 11 floors. The television in my room did not work and the WiFi was weak at best. I could not access any apps on my phone; fortunately I did not try to work on my lap top. The constant noise as the HVAC system went on and off all night resulted in a poor night's sleep, although the bed was comfortable and the pillows were fine. I would not want to stay beyond one day for business due to the uptown location. But I would not choose this hotel if I had a personal choice.

I don't know if we were just unlucky when we stated but on arrival the place seemed chaotic. The pool, which you can see from reception, was completely overcrowded. There were people eating dinner from plates in the lifts. I didn't feel like I was in a hotel at all. The smell of weed in the bedroom was partner told me to close the balcony door so as not to smell it but it wasn't open! The room was just so noisy from the road below that it sounded like it was. There may aswell have been no door because the noise from the freeway 10 floors below was headache inducing. I've stayed in cities all over the world (I had just come from Manhattan) and this is the loudest hotel room I've ever been in. I did not sleep well at all. However....the room was clean and a nice size. The bed was comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was surprisingly decent. I would not ever stay here again though. Not a hope.

Friendly staff, clean rooms and nice enough breakfast. Night time bar is nothing to write home about, but fine if you just want a nightcap. Location was good for our requirements that evening, so it worked out just right - price for need. The bell staff uniquely indifferent to newcomers, but perhaps he is used to people handling their own bags. He didn't even offer. Its OK though as long as he helped those in need. The front desk staff was great. Noisy outside - tough to block sirens, etc.

We went to Charlotte for a three day school related event. The event took place at another "fancier" hotel one block away from the Fairfield Inn. Most of our schoolmates stayed at the host Hotel. Their experience at that hotel was quite negative, not just because it was more costly, expensive parking, no free breakfast, but for other reasons as well. My family at the Fairfield Inn had a delicious hot breakfast every morning. Parking in their garage was cheap ( as I paid ahead with a AAA rate) and very convenient to enter the hotel from the garage. The room was nice with a fridge. The lobby was decorated and cozy. The staff was gracious and allowed me and two of my kids to sit in an area of the lobby, that was like a library with chairs, on the day we checked out, as we were waiting for the school event at the other hotel to finish up. We used the shuttle bus when it was raining to get to a restaurant. Fairfield Inn was in a convenient location to the downtown area, as well as a shopping district with restaurants in the opposite direction. We rode the scooters around the downtown area that were right outside the hotel. For the school event we easily walked back and forth to the other host hotel. Fairfield inn was much more quiet and personable. We really enjoyed the NYC Men's soccer team that was also staying at the hotel.

We were in Charlotte for medical purposes and stayed at this hotel. Great location to get back and forth to hospital. From the time we arrived until we checked out (3 days) the staff was so sweet, helpful, and accommodating. The rooms are very comfortable, quite, and clean. The breakfast was okay, nothing fancy, but good way to start day. We ate dinner at the tavern in hotel and it was very good and the staff is friendly and make you laugh. They always had cold flavored water in lobby, which was very refreshing. Perfect location to walk to shopping and restaurants during the day. Will stay at this hotel again on next trip to Charlotte.
