The house was great and we really enjoyed staying there. However, our stay was not without some concerns. For perspective, this was a gathering of several couples for a 45th high school reunion, not a bunch of youngsters by any stretch. The day we arrived, I got an email from the management company with additional property rules which are not included anywhere in the property description on VRBO. Here are 2 excerpts from that email.QUIET HOURS ARE BETWEEN 10 PM AND 9 AM. If you are in violation the police will be contacted and you willbe evicted from the property with no refund.MAXIMUM OCCUPANCIES ARE NOT TO BE EXCEEDED AT ANY TIME. NO DAYTIME GUESTS ALLOWED.andThe maximum occupancy of this unit is 12. If you are over the maximum occupancy limit at any time, youwill be asked to leave with NO refund. The part about "no daytime guests" and exceeding the maximum occupancy of the property being grounds for removal with no refund are a bit extreme. Had this been clearly stated in the house rules on VRBO, we probably would have looked for alternative properties. I don't have a problem with the rule. I have a problem with not being told that this is the rule until the morning that I'm scheduled to arrive when I have no option to cancel the reservation and find alternative accommodations. Ultimately, we were able to get this taken care of with a call to the management company, but they could just have easily said that there were no exceptions to the policy.
