Wish I could give zero. Arrived here at 11:30pm last night with my wife and infant daughter after driving for 9 hours. Tried to check-in but the front desk clerk said they were doing a 2-hour software update (at 11:30 on Saturday night??) and couldn’t check me in. Clerk obviously lacked any critical or creative thinking skills regarding customer service. He just could not think of a solution. Asked if I could leave my credit card and pay in the morning - Nope. Told me to drive 12 miles out of my way to nearest Quality Inn. When I asked if they were also doing a software upgrade, he just gave me their phone number and told me to call them. Ended up having to drive another hour to Paducah, KY (Auburn Place Hotel was amazing). Suggestions to the owner: lots of customer service training, hire competent workers that can solve problems on evening shift, and schedule your software upgrades between 1:30 or 2:30 when nobody is looking for a room.

As I was checking out the next morning, I confronted the front desk lady who with an attitude asked me how many people were in the room and I replied. I kindly asked her why? She got up and went to a door behind the counter and just shut the door on me. I was shocked I was just treated like nobody by a hotel clerk. I went to my car got my cellphone and over heard her talking to the cleaning lady that she asked me how many people and started laughing. Little she knew I was coming back inside to talk to her. I got inside she wasn't at the desk. I called the hotel and she came out from the room and I told her it was me calling. I wanted explanation why was I treated so rude? She just said "good-bye" and went to another door and shut it. I stood there and waited on her and once she came back out there was a guy with coming out from the room. I asked her why was I treated like that and she denied treating me and kept saying that I have to leave. I asked if I can talk to her manager and she claimed she was the manager "Sonny". I asked if I can talk to someone else and she said there was no one else to talk to just leave. I waited until she gave me a number to call and so I did. I explained to the person I was talking to how rude, mean, so unprofessional and so on she was toward me a "guest". I have worked in hotels and been to so many hotels but never been treated like I did at this particular hotel. I don't and will NEVER come back and don't recommend this place to anybody with kids because she will treat you like she did to me. Unless if she is racist as well then WOW! I hope they get her back to training class on how to treat your GUEST who get you the paycheck RIGHT WAY! How dare you to use that franchise name and treat the customers horrible.....

At first I thought this was an okay place to stay. (09/17/17). It looked clean and the lady at the desk was friendly and helpful. The room appeared clean and comfortable. However, when I went to use the shower, the faucet came off the wall when I raised the shower lever. It was late at night, so I decided I would just show it to them in the morning. I'm a reasonable person and understand that motel rooms get a lot of wear and tear so I wasn't going to make a big issue out of it. When checking out the next morning, my husband took the faucet with him and explained to the lady at the front desk what happened. Her response was "Those are brand new!"....okay. Not sure what that has to do with anything, but it obviously it was not put together adequately to begin with or it was already broken. Still, I didn't see this as a big deal and planned on staying there again in my travels through that area. That was until I seen I was charged an extra $27.75 a few days later. I called and talked to the lady who answered the phone to find out why I was charged for this. (09/23/17) She rudely replied "it's for the faucet that you broke!" As I tried to explain what happened, all I heard was silence for she had hung up on me. I called again and asked if she hung up on me. She said "Yes. You broke it. You will pay for it to be fixed! This what my boss said to do! You can call the owner and talk to him!" I said yes and she gave me the number. Of course, all I got was an answering service where I left a message. As of yet, this owner has not returned my call. Called headquarters but they are closed today. (Saturday). Beware if you stay here and use your debit card. Looks can be deceiving. I cannot believe anyone would treat a customer in this manner.

An older motel the has tried to be upgraded but not quite there. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The closest place to eat is 8 miles away or their vending machine. Rooms are smaller with a tiny bathroom. It is off the beaten path and a little hard to find. My Nav igation unit would not locate it.

Convenient for our needs. Room floors and surfaces were rather dirty. Bed seemed clean, however. Lots of hair on the floor and surfaces, like where the TV was located, weren't wiped clean. As soon as getting into the room I had to wipe off what appeared to be urine spots on the toilet seat. I saw a housekeeper cleaning other rooms and she appeared to be doing a good job so maybe our room wasn't typical. People were very friendly. Bed was comfortable.

The hotel was in the middle of nowhere. There was no food or entertainment nearby. Breakfast was mediocre and the vending machine was out of order. Not all tv channels were available, just mostly sports. The bed was so soft it felt like it sank to the floor. The bathroom was unbelievably tiny. Seriously it was like 5 feet by 4 feet. The tub had stains and peeling paint as well as hair inside of it. The room was a good size and fairly clean. Pictures below of the tub area. As bad as it sounds if you are on the road and need a place to crash for a few hours, I would recommend for that.

Second time staying here, first time without our poochie. We picked this place as it is 6+ hours from our starting point and we knew about the restaurant "Huckleberry's" was nearby so staying here was a good stop for us. The room was clean and the whole place was clean so it was a good choice. Price was low, booked using their app. Nothing around here but a Dollar General but if you just need a room after traveling it is a good choice.

Passing thru this area, I stopped here, navigating here is tricky as not all "Garmin" type devices can locate this place. It's at exit 1, heading S. on I-57. This small, quaint two story facility has seen a new face lift in many respects and for what and where it is located, It's quite impressive in comparative to many of its siblings. The rooms are longer than most but not beyond normal in width. The room layout was a bit odd, hitting the sink upon entry??? The A/C was quiet and the room was clean. Here the tiles were not painted, however, the work quality is lacking in the rehab. For what it was and the local it served its purpose.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times now. Its well worth the cost, altgough there aren't many options in the area anyway. The hotel is clean, quiet, and the breakfast quality exceeds expectations for a hotel at this price point. Each of my stays was with a small dog, with an additional pet fee of $10.00. I'm unsure if all rooms are pet friendly, but each time I've stayed, my room was in a different area of the hotel. Parking is convienient and signage for the hotel is adequate and helps the traveler locate the property. There is a dollar store nearby, but not much else. Its sad to see the historically rich city or Cairo in such an advanced state of decay and some areas are probably unsafe. Finding a clean, safe hotel may seem like a remote possibility, but this hotel fits the bill. The rooms are just fine, seemed very clean, no complaints at all. The cost of the room is very low, even with the pet fee. The check-in and check-out is quick and easy. The staff isn't very "friendly" as other reviewers have pointed out, but none I have dealt with were unfriendly. You just don't see many smiles from behind the desk. They have all been very skilled and obviously know their jobs well. Traveling alone with a dog pretty much prevents me eating in the dining area, so I just prepared a "to-go" plate with a cup of coffee. The breakfast included several options and there's probably something for everybody's taste. The hotel is well worth the price and I will continue to stay here when in this area.

Not enough chairs in breakfast area. Told Sunny and she she just said no we do not have any mor chairs. A guest found a chair in an open room but told inspectors would be mad if they saw the chair in the area. Couldn't take food to your room so had to eat standing up. Eggs and biscuits were lukewarm. Water in room took 5 -10 minutes to get hot. $10 rollaway bed broke so had to put mattress on the floor. Will not stay here again. Poor customer service! Oh the coffee was akin to a cup of water. Pool was under repair😟
