One of the BEST HOTELS we've been too, today is our second night and so far, the staff has been super friendly. The pool, gym, laundry room and hallways along with the cafe area are extremely clean. Room service is available as soon as you call front desk and breakfast is delicious!
This hotel is your standard cookie-cutter hotel. The suites do contain a mini-kitchen which is convenient if you plan on cooking during your stay. The small sleeper sofa is comfortable for 1 adult. The complimentary breakfast is subpar compared to other hotel chains that offer is perk. Nothing outstanding in my opinion and it served its purpose for a quick weekend getaway to attend a wedding.
We made a last minute reservation to stay here with our two dogs. Most of the hotels in the area will not allow dogs. We weren't expecting much (it's slim pickings in Brownsville, sorry I'm from the area & it's the truth...they overcharge for not much of anything). We were pleasantly surprised by the hospitality of the hotel staff and the cleanliness of the hotel. Our room was immaculate and the grounds were very well maintained. We booked a queen bedroom with a kitchenette and it was the perfect size for our short stay. It was well-equipped with everything that we needed. Breakfast the next morning was more than adequate as well and had a wide selection of hot and cold foods. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, when traveling with pets.
I've spend several weeks here over the course of several visits to the area for work, and have never been disappointed. Great staff and great service, every time. From the cleaning service, the the front desk, to the grounds keepers, this is a top notch property.
This hotel is a fine place to stay. It's not fancy, but it's clean and it's away from the highway so the road noise is minimal. It's also very close to several restaurants which is convenient when you are unfamiliar with an area. Most helpful was Luis at the front desk. He bent over backwards to accommodate what we needed and it means a lot after a long drive and two long days ahead of you. Thank you Luis!
Great room....great hospitality. The rooms were very clean, came with a little kitchen fully furnished. We had the one bedroom suite with two queen beds. The front desk personnel were so very sweet and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was hot and fresh. The area was extremely clean. Pets are welcomed....big plus. No funny odors, clean carpets. And best of all....smoke free. Great place to stay, will definitely be our place to stay when visiting Brownsville.
This is a nice property set back from the roads, quiet and convenient to shopping, restaurants, the freeway. They offer both rooms and suites. The suite consists of 2 rooms and a bathroom. Full size refrigerator, 2 burners for cooking, pans and dishes. Dishwasher also provided. Lots of drawers for your belongings. 2 televisions, one in the living area and one in the bedroom. They serve a hot breakfast in the morning, coffee available all day, Monday thru Wednesday they have a meet and greet in the dining area and serve wine, beer, sodas and light snacks, salad, pizza, hot dogs. Menu changes daily. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is a laundry room to do your laundry(no charge) and clothes basked if furnished in the room.
The majority of features at Staybridge Brownsville was excellent during my 6-night stay this month (August, 2016). For example, upon my request, they made my bed, emptied trash, changed towels, etc., every day. Breakfast every morning and coffee available during the day were very nice to have and good. Staff were typically friendly and very helpful. The lodging appeared very attractive, clean and looked new or very well-kept; and having a nice kitchenette was great. The suites are also located well, very close to a mall and central to my travels in Brownsville. Areas for their improvement consideration were relatively minor for me and could include: the 3 available types of coffee were not consistenly available during breakfast; 1 of 2 treadmills was working; and night supervisor was a bit too helpful in setting up a potential taxi ride to the airport. A lot of people were staying during this high vacation time of year so that I could hear children in the hall and wouldn't get in the pool. Overall, the positives over-rode any minor inconvenience and made this stay excellent. I will definitely stay there again.
I have stayed in this hotel twice, basically because the convenient location. The rooms are ok, the bedding is nice and the pillows are very comfortable. Both times I have stayed in a studio like where you have the bed, the sofa bed and the kitchen in a common area. Amenities are nice, and water pressure and water temperature are good. I appreciate the all day long coffee in the lobby, free breakfast and sort of a happy hour. Plenty of parking space.
Anybody interested in having a room layout with a "Separate sitting area" from your "Sleeping Area"? Well this isn't it - at least not the "Studio Queen", according to Staybridge Hotel front desk staff and management. The sofa bed is literally in front of the queen bed - offers absolutely zero privacy and would be comparable to two side by side queen beds without the actual comfort of a good mattress. The front desk staff "tried" to accommodate my friends by offering an additional room - I thought that was perfect, until the front desk brought an invoice for an additional room at $175/night! To think that I was excited since I thought they were going to make things right. Especially after staff, and later management, indicated that "this issue has occurred often" with other consumers. Obviously it's a "bait and switch" marketing tactic that they are using to lure people into their hotel. Needless to say, we did not end up staying. We decided to drive back to our home for the next 4 hours rather than letting ourselves being taken advantage as consumers. I've contacted Staybridge Suites Hotel and the 3rd party where I booked the room from and neither is taking responsibility, and in either case, I believe it's the Hotel's responsibility to fix this re-occurring misconception. I could’ve stayed at a cheaper, nicer competitor’s hotel if I wanted side by side beds. My stay at this hotel and getaway to Southpadre was shortened due to this inconvenience.
