The hotel is located outside the Bordeaux, close to the airport. The hotel was nice and rooms clean and comfortable. We took the tram in to the city which was very convenient. The tram is just steps away from this hotel. The restaurant had a very nice buffet and service was excellent!
We stayed here for a stopover on our way to Lacanau Ocean in a bid to avoid the traffic jam the following day on the A10 and the Rocade. We were met by the friendly and helpful reception team. The room was comfortable and spacious and the children loved their bedroom on the mezzanine. We spent a short time at the pool which was a little cold, but positioned in a sunny spot. We had the evening buffet in the restaurant which was very good, complemented by a solid wine list. All in all a great find and we will return next year.
When driving from the UK to Portugal, we always stop off overnight somewhere near Bordeaux. It is very difficult finding a hotel that can accommodate a family of five in one room but I'm happy to say that the Kyriad Prestige Bordeaux Ouest in Merignac did just that. Their family room has a double bed and two single beds upstairs in the mezzanine and plenty of room to put our travel cot. Also, when we wanted to give our 5 year old and 2 year old daughters a bath, we noticed there was no bath plug but the lady at reception was extremely polite and helpful and managed to get one for us. We will be stopping there on the way back and have no concerns because we know the staff are very polite and helpful.
Have stayed here many times since 2004 on business. Hotel rooms are immaculate and very clean. Reception is friendly and speak some English. Restaurant is very good, I usually have the Gourmand (€27) excellent starters of sea food from the buffet, fresh oysters, shell fish, salmon etc. Followed by a hot meal from the buffet, usually choose their rare beef. Good selection of wines by the glass (€5).
We chose this hotel for the ease with which to visit the city with a car. A clean and comfortable hotel. It was very easy to locate and there is lots of parking at the hotel. The tram service for the city was excellent and the terminus stop was very close to the hotel. We managed to achieve all we had planned in Bordeaux with the minimum of fuss.
We came here on our way back from Spain last year for an overnight stop and was impressed so booked the journey back. The rooms are excellent lovely breakfast and the staff are very friendly. It is more expensive than others but I think it is worth it but they need to include a free internet connection, Planning to come here and stay for a few days as an overnight doesn't do it justice.
Visited on business and I wanted clean, tidy and well serviced. That is exactly what I got. The hotel is spread over two floors, has a bar area and nicely set out restaurant as well as offering leisure facilities such as swimming pool and fitness room (although some of the exercise equipment has seen better days!). It loses a point as the bedrooms are like sweat boxes - it didn't matter what I did with aircon I couldn't get the temperature below 27 degrees! I ended up having to sleep with the window wide open which was fine as I was on the second floor but I would have been slightly reluctant if I was on the first floor! Breakfast was comprehensive and dinner was buffet style but a lot of variety and choice. Given it's proximity to the airport this is an ideal location for business trips and 'stayovers' - just sort out the temperature in the bedrooms!
Very welcoming staff, clean and large room, very large bathroom. Excellent breakfast at 14 euros per person. It is rated 4 star but the price is more like 3 star, especially compared to Paris. We would definitely return.
My bride and I arrived at 19:00 to eat and sleep, and join a tour the following morning. The hotel staff was welcoming, friendly, accommodating. The main desk clerk greeted me by name! They gladly suffered my poor French. The restaurant food was delicious. The beds were very comfortable. The room was quite and clean. The airport shuttle was convenient. It was exactly what we required for the one night stay.
This is a decent hotel - the facilities are fine and no complaints about the room. It was booked at a very good rate, the wifi had a strong signal. What it is not good for is a layover from the airport; it is not on the shuttlebus route, so it's 20 euros for a short journey (and 25 back on the Saturday morning). It is right by a tram terminus, the route takes you into Bordeaux centre, but it's 35 minutes through some very dull suburbs.
