The hotel needs repairs by the pool area it is in a poor condition. Overall it needs updating!

IF YOU BOOK THROUGH ORBITZ, OR ANY OTHER THIRD PARTY, YOU CAN'T EARN HILTON POINTS!

The bathroom was dirty and covered with hair. Other than that a great hotel

This hotel has great river views which we enjoyed. The Staff were friendly and fairly responsive. The tap water had the smell and taste of sulphur. The soap and shampoo were not very nice and left a film that made it extremely slippery to safely negotiate around the tub. Valet only hotel, that makes getting in and out of the hotel extremely difficult, and you get to pay $17 per day for that pleasure...the elevators were having mechanical problems, the pool closed very early. The gift store where you go for items that you may have forgotten, or ibuprofen, was emptied out and had almost nothing in it. Over all satisfied with the hotel, they just Need to make some tweaks and the experience could have been much nicer! Some of this may well be due to the extreme challenge caused by employees dealing with the impacts of the historic floods in Baton Rouge.

The hotel lists a shuttle service that will take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius. This is really ONLY service to and from the airport. Good luck getting a ride to anywhere else but the airport even though they state as an amenity that the shuttle provides local area transportation. There is not a wide selection of places to dine within walking distance, so if you want to go out to a decent restaurant do not rely on the shuttle you will have to get a taxi.

Room was clean and comfortable but don't plan on having a nice meal in the restaurant. Bar was average.

We stayed at the Hilton Baron Rouge Downtown this weekend 10/26/13. We booked a double and upon check in at 4:00PM no doubles were avail. We were asked to wait in the Lobby but I had a 2 and 3 year old who needed naps. They placed me in a King and I had to move an hour later. When my room was ready they told me to come get my new key. I asked if the bellman could come with it as I would need help with my bags because I had 2 and 3 year old to deal with as well. Bellman came 15 min later, handed me the key and turned and left. When I called again to get bellman to come back I was told it might be awhile so I dragged two bags, hand bag, diaper bag, computer bag, two toddlers and a stroller one floor to my new room (901). The room had a beautiful view over the river but it was a handicap accessible bathroom which is NOT great when you have toddlers. The bathroom floor tiles were EXTREMLEY dangerous, more slippery than ice when wet and both my children slipped and fell and hit their heads. I slipped once. We were only given two towels. When I asked for more I was told no there was a shortage. I needed the extra towels to keep the floor safe. The hotel is designed that the 10th floor is a balcony overlooking downtown and they host parties there. Our room was directly below. They had loud music blasting and shaking the ceiling. My children could not fall asleep. At 9:15 I called the front desk and they claimed the event was to have ended at 9:00. At 9:30 I called again. The party went past 10:00. At 10:30PM a housekeeper entered my room to bring a blanket (that I had NOT requested) and woke my children who had just fallen asleep. At 11:30 the guests (college students) next foot checked into their room and held a party ALL night long until 6:00AM (This is not an exaggeration). The room was decent not fabulous. I found black hairs on the shower floor. When I called down for a cot the front desk informed me "This property doesn't do cots" this is an issue as my 2 year old is to big for a crib and I wanted to put mattress on the floor. My 2 year old ended up falling out of be and bashing her head on the side table and cutting/bruising her head. Overall it was a miserable, sleepless and dangerous stay at The Hilton.

Without a doubt, this is the worst Hilton I have ever stayed in. As a Hilton Honors member, I have stayed at Hilton's all over the U.S. At this particular Hilton, I had the pleasure of staying on the 3rd floor. Upon exiting the elevators, you are met with a smell that is so horrible, you briefly consider getting back on the elevator and spending the night in your vehicle. The carpeted hallways on the 3rd floor are soaking wet and covered in mold. Only one small fan is trying to dry the carpet for the entire floor. Once you barricade yourself in the room, the smell is tolerable. However, good luck taking a shower or bath as running water is non-existent. If you call and discuss these issues with the hotel staff you are met with the attitude of a 13 year old and told "what do you expect us to do about it". Well for starters, don't rent a room that smells of rotting animal flesh and has no running water. The local roach motel would have had better conditions. I will not be staying at a Hilton hotel again.

I was in Baton Rouge for 2 weeks on business. This hotel has a great location, great pool, pool bar, and fantastic river view. It is within walking distance of most downtown restaurants. It was well worth the price.

Enjoyed staying here and would recommend it. Blue Room directly across the street with excellant music.

I very much enjoyed my stay. Love the hotel bar, the lobby, the location (right smack where you want to be downtown). Room was very comfortable and clean, and the decor was tasteful and classy, but still modern. Great TV, good internet and WiFi. Bed very comfortable, with lots of pillows of varying firmness. The only less-than-perfect detail was that the room felt a little small. It's a restored hotel from the 1920s, so there's not much to be done about it, granted. Bathroom had shower-stall only - it was spacious, bright, clean and very relaxing. I'm not the bath type but if you are, you might want to ask about it.

my wife surprised me on my birthday/anniversary by getting me a room for the first LSU football game of the season. The room was very nice and clean. Everyone was very helpful and made my stay a very pleasant one.

Excellent staff, great facility for a great price!

The honeymoon suite is incredible, the regular rooms are very nice.

On the river, close to many good resturants and bars. Just went to get away for the night, had a great time.

Hilton Downtown Baton Rouge is a warm, historical place to visit, even on a freezing night on the River. Employees were friendly and exuded the down-south warmth and kindness that is indigenous to South Louisiana. The Little Village Cafe was a short stroll from Hilton, and the food was fabulous! Compared to previous stays in downtown Baton Rouge, this was quite an enjoyable experience.

We stayed one night for new years eve, perfect for walking distance to downtown bars. Staff was wonderful and very accomodating

Helpful staff...beautiful river view...great location.

My experience was great. The front desk clerks along with the staff were very nice and knowledgeable.

We arrived at Hilton Baton Rouge Capital Center and there was no one to valet my car. Proceeded to front desk to check in where the manager on duty advised me that I wouldn't be able to receive a massage the following day even though I when I had called for my reservation they said it was no problem (no masseuse on Sunday). Next we go to our room where it was 85 degrees (a/c not working). Called front desk and they acted as if I didn't no how to work the thermostat. After 15 minutes and two calls back to front desk they called me back and said they would do me a favor and move into another room soon. Ten minutes after that someone shows up to help us move. Not help with bags just brought us a key and told us where our room was. After we get to our next room we notice there is no tub only a shower for handicap/wheelchair. Not what we wanted or reserved. Called clerk again and advised him at which time put me on hold for manager. I asked the manager how much would it cost for me to upgrade to a Master Suite he ignored the question and said that no more rooms were available (at check out I found out was a lie). So now we take a shower and most of the water leaks out of shower and into bathroom (about a inch of water). Time to brush teeth standing in about a inch of water I get shocked by vanity mirror that is approx. waist high (handicap). Getting shocked while brushing your teeth standing in a inch of water REALLY SUCKS!!! Went to bed and woke up to room service :-) Wrong. Food was cold and milk was hot and expired the same day as they were serving it. $50 dollars later for breakfast it was time to go. Go to front desk to check out and advise manager of problems where he proceeded to say sorry (not to sincere at all) and ask me to pay $18 dollars for parking. I think they would have to try to give any worst service. NEVER AGAIN!!! EVER!!!
