We only stayed one night but it was incredilbe! Views and property were even better than the pictures. Room was clean and quiet except for the sound of the river, which is exactly what we wanted. We'll definitely book again!

Enjoying the remoteness and quietness of the neighborhood with the view of bear Creek and listening to the river through the night. It was a very nice stay, my brand new Bride and I enjoyed ourselves.It's a steep hike down to the river, but if you were to take time, it's not too bad coming out, took a few brakes on the way out. It's a short hike!

It was quiet and peaceful - exactly what we needed. The kitchen was great for cooking breakfast. It was nice with full sized appliances. The apartment and bed were comfortable. The view was beautiful and the binoculars were a nice touch. We loved hanging out on the deck. The only negative was the short, deeply pot holed, dirt/gravel road that connected the paved road with the paved driveway. Nice place for a peaceful get away.

Misleading property description

This is advertised as a 2-bedroom, but is really a large studio. It has one bed, which is fine, but the only other sleeping option is a fold out couch, which won the prize for being the most uncomfortable fold out couch in the world.Also, the photos show a deck that is not part of the rental. The deck that is part of the rental is fine except it has no umbrellas or shade structure, so it is too hot. Another thing that isn’t mentioned is the dirt road, which is very rutty and a problem for any car with a low clearance.

Property and stay was beautiful! Road to the property was rough and full of deep holes. It was a private road and needed work, badly. Home was listed as two bedroom, but it was not. I enjoyed my stay so quiet and relaxing, even saw set up close.

Great little retreat

It was a short little weekend getaway. We just wanted to relax and unwind from a busy work week and this place was a little piece of heaven on earth. The river is a short walk down the hill. The neighborhood is tucked away which makes it so tranquil and quiet. You only hear the river. But the main hwy is just minutes away from stores and restaurants. Although the land around the property is quite beautiful, the property itself is quite cluttered. I didn’t like hearing someone tromp back and forth above the ceiling in the mornings and fairly late at night. One of the reasons that I avoid hotels is to NOT have to listen to the noise of others. All three overhead light fixtures had burned out light bulbs, making the interior fairly dim for my aging eyes. That said, nicely appointed, very comfortable bed, nice views, and a good base of operations if you intend to explore Auburn, Grass Valley, and Nevada City, all of which are about 20 minutes away. And the price is reasonable for what you get.

Great place!

Very peaceful and private. Excellent stay. The only part that was a bit challenging was using the satellite internet. It was not easy to communicate through this unless the day was very clear.

Quick and close getaway

Lovey little suite, clean with everything we needed. Great views. Although we did not make it to the river spot, after a long hike earlier in the day it was to steep for us to walk. Wish we had an all wheel drive vehicle to get us there and back. Very easy check in and check out.

Great little getaway by a creek

Stayed here with my two daughters and very much enjoyed our stay. The host was very communicative, the accommodations were cozy and clean, and we spent a lovely time at the swimming hole just down the hill, watching the trout and bullfrogs. Highly recommend.
