Real creamer instead of powder creamer for coffee down on the floor where breakfast is served would have been nice for the amount the cost was for a two night stay.
We stayed in the new building of the hotel. This part of the hotel was clean and updated. The amenities were great for our family. Our kids were entertained while there with the Spa area, free breakfast, lounge area, and office area.
Only had my dog with us for 2 of the 3 nights but was charged for all 3. Room wasn’t cleaned our last day and there was no staff to be found for trash removal or clean towels. Stay in the main building–the annex doesn’t seem safe at all.
I sent the following email yesterday and have not gotten a response.... Hi Tripp, just following up on our conversation yesterday. I checked in late on Sunday night in to room 116. At about 2:30am the smoke detector alarm triggered. We called the front desk immediately and were told someone would come by. We were able to climb up and press the reset button which turned it off and we called back to the front desk and let them know. At approximately 4:00am it triggered again and we were able to reset again. It triggered a third time at about 5:00am and at that point I called the desk and asked for a new room. We had an early appointment at the University on Monday so at that point we gave up on trying to get more sleep and packed up to move to a new room later in the day. As it turns out we are checking out today. You had mentioned discounting our stay so please let me know what my final charge will be. On a side note, the new room we moved to (505) was definitely an improvement but wanted to let you know about a couple of minor issues. The lights above the mirror in the bathroom do not work as well as the desk lamp and the toilet does not seem to be fully anchored to the floor. Thought you’d want to know before putting new guests in the room. Just to say, this hasn’t been a great experience with Best Western. Let me know if you need any additional info, thanks.
The location was convenient to town and to UGA. The only problem was that my shower was cold. Water at the sink was fine.
I liked that it was close enough to justify two healthy young people can walk. I wouldn't suggest walking if you're older or unhealthy. What I did not like is there was a cup of water left in the room. I went to close the blind and the blind knocked it off the HVAC unit and it splashed all over me. When I called to say something about it, they said they would come get it, but no one ever did. We also had to SLAM the bathroom door shut in order to close it.
I stayed in the main building which was really nice. I don't know if it was new or newly renovated, but it was great. There were some outside entrance type units behind and down from the main building that appeared to be older and not as nice (at least from the outside). My accommodations were wonderful with everything I needed. The breakfast was good as well and the staff was so nice. My only somewhat negative comment would be that there were very few parking spaces on the street level (I was able to get one) so if you didn't have one, you had to walk down the hill to park and bring your luggage up the hill to enter. Also there was no convenient place to park while you are checking in. Another positive: the hotel is just across the street from a nice open green space. It's also located in the middle of the UGA area and the area is extremely nice and very safe. I would highly recommend this hotel.
We were rejected, for having been one the road. On Christmas
Very easy check in. The staff was very nice! Very clean rooms.
The hotel was clean and welcoming. The staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient. The breakfast was delicious, with many hot choices available.
Convenient to everything. Enjoyed the breakfast but wish that had kept some things out for late sleepers. On a busy road so kind of noisy and a lot of early risers that were also noisy.
Like: Very clean and well-appointed. Dislike: 1) Elevator was extremely slow compared to other hotels. When asked about this the staff relayed it was always slow. 2) Parking area next to street seemed desolate although seemed to work. Need to have some security camera or notices for the lot.
