Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort

The resort itself was beautiful. The grounds were neat and kept clean. The beach was perfect except you had to get up around 6:30am to reserve beach chairs and shade huts. Ridiculous. If you don't then you don't have beach space for the entire day. Many people reserved the space then left for the day. The suite was nice but the bed was only queen size, I am 6ft 5 at 260 lbs., my wife and I could barely fit the bed. They should have been king size. The worst complaint was the size of the bathroom. So small my wife and I could not be inside there at the same time. You have to turn sideways to utilize the toilet. Way to small. Other than that we loved the location away from the BIG resorts. Nice quiet beach. Loved the ISLAND.

We stayed in a newer tower in a suite with 2 bathrooms. The room was spaciois, clean and looked relatively new, with a nice kitchen and balcony. Beach is gorgeous, perfect for families with small children because it's really shallow and warm. Pools are nice and restaurants are decent for breakfast and lunch if u don't wanna cook and venture out. Staff was always accommodating.

The hotel is located right on the beach. We initially were assigned a ground floor but after requesting a room with a beach view the staff was very accommodating and made the arrangements the next day. The hotel does a good job have a couple events for their guest (orientation mtg and a cocktail party). The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the main section in Palm Beach which was nice as there was plenty of restaurants to select from. The two negatives: While the policy is not to reserve lounge chairs on the beach no one seems to comply or enforce this rule. At 7 a.m. people start pulling lounge chairs and placing towels down on all the shaded area and lays empty for a couple of hours. While at the swim up bar one guest (I believe she is a timeshare owner) told us we would need to give up the seats we just sat in a little bit as she was holding them for someone who was coming down later. When I politely told her you can't reserve spots she said there is practice and there is policy. Very rude lady I can see why her friends never showed the entire time we were there. Secondly, we were not notified the water pipes were being cleaned and would not have access to water from 10:30 p.m. till 10 a.m. the following day. My husband went to bed with shampoo in his hair.

5th time staying at the Divi Phoenix. It keeps improving. Best location on Palm Beach in my opinion as its away from congestion but close enough to walk to all your entertainment needs.

A really nice place to stay. The staff are nice just the bar staff need to smile a little otherwise the staff is wonderful. I stayed for 6 nights without any problems. My room had a kitchen two bathrooms and an ocean view. Of course with a king bed. It's also good for kids

We spent two nights at the Divi recently, after spending two nights in the downtown area of Aruba, we wanted to experience a more on the beach type of resort but honestly the hotel felt very very touristy. The beach front property was what drew us to book but once we arrived we realized it was a timeshare place. Mainly older couples or families with young children, which is okay but we were on our honeymoon so I could of lived without all the chaos of kids running into to you every five minutes or older guests with timeshares taking up all the seats at the swim up bar and getting special treatment. Check in was horrible, they couldn't find our hotel reservation and by the time we got in to the room we had wasted half the day in the lobby for the fear of leaving our luggage out in the open where they were storing it. A few of the staff were great and others seemed bothered each time we asked for help. Food on the property and alcohol were both mediocre and we preferred to venture off and didn't our own food elsewhere. We did receive a bottle of wine and heart shaped towels after I told them it was our honeymoon but it wasn't the welcome I expected. Overall it was hard to be mad with such a beautiful view right at our back door but next time, if we come for our anniversary I will look into something less crowded or more catered to couples.

This is a best hotel for your money. Nice Hotel, nice location.

The location is awesome. Nice beach. The open air lobby and pools are beautiful. Near restaurants and night life.

Clean room, had to ask for clean towels a couple of times, shower door didn't sit right so water went out onto floor. The place is beautiful. You need to take water shoes, pretty good size rocks in some areas of the water. Love Aruba

The hotel is located in a great spot. The beach area is the best of all the high rises. The staff is slow but all places are this way in Aruba. The rooms have a kitchen which is awesome.

The resort is located near the high rise area of Palm Beach. Within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. You will need to either get a cab or ride the bus to get to Oranjestad though. Our very small studio room in the three story villas section was decent but housekeeping needs a sharper eye for cleanliness detail. The kitchenette was well equipped however too cramped for any real cooking. Pure Beach restaurant was ok. Typically priced for Aruba. Quality of food was mediocre. The deli turkey used in sandwiches was spongy and flavorless. Found a hair in our Jerk Chicken Pizza.... Overall not a bad place to stay. Location and the onsite beach were our main reasons for choosing this property. I would recommend a room in the towers though..

I come here all the time. The location is perfect. Right on the beach. Jude at the swim up pool bar is an awesome guy. The grounds are immaculate. I feel the building matienece is lacking. Doors don't shut right. Radio in room didn't work. TV remotes didn't work.

Aside from the sun and sand that comes with any Palm Beach location in Aruba, this resort is a little tired. Once the Divi Aruba Phoenix Resort was known for the less crowded beach and the ease of finding a palapa (beach hut). Now, the 5:30 AM line to reserve a palapa is cause for lack of sleep. There are certainly many good things that come with being in Aruba. Just wish they would not succumb to the ways of the rest of the Palm Beach resorts.

My Wife and I traveled to Aruba in late September to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We found the Country of Aruba to be wonderful. A cab from the airport is 25 dollars but they charge you two extra for your luggage. This is certainly not the Divi's fault. The cab company is upfront about it and a cab ride for two is actually cheaper than a shuttle bus that stops at all of the resorts. The physical location of the Divi Phoenix is amazing. It is right on a great stretch of beach. It is at the end of the high rise hotels and has a secluded feel while only being a short walk down the beach(less than 500 yards# from the high rise hotels, are the other hotels, beachfront restaurants, bars on piers #the Bugaloe was excellent for live music and reasonable prices for a quality dinner and drinks# extending into the ocean, great live music and a world of ocean and Island excursions. When you walk by the other resorts you feel sorry for the guests who are packed together on busy stretches of beach and do not have the solitude of the Divi Phoenix. The system to reserve beach huts also worked very well. Our room was a one bedroom suite in the beach tower. The room was very nice. It had a refrigerator, microwave, stovetop #no oven# and dishwasher. There was even a washer/dryer. It also had two bathrooms with amazing rainforest showers. The master bathroom also had a large whirlpool tub. The furnishings throughout were nice. A tip for the budget conscious is to go to the Supermarket which is close by and load up on beer, rum, pina colada mix #did I mention the blender# and breakfast and lunch items. The room also had a large bucket that we filled with beer and ice and took the beach. The only problem with the room is that it looked right at the pool and restaurant and had a very limited view of the ocean since it was a ground floor unit. The positive of this was that we had easy access to our room throughout the day. We dined at both Pure Beach and Pure Ocean. The food and service were very good at both. One night we ordered a pizza from Pure Beach and ate it on our deck after a long day on the beach. We did two activities. We took an afternoon snorkel trip with Aruba Watersports on the Arusun and also booked a large inner tube ride down the coast line. We did not book at the concierge but rather at Rudy's Hut on the beach right next to the Bugaloe about 500 yards down the beach# for a considerable savings. Ask for Karenta - a wonderful lady with beautiful twin boys who took care of all of our needs without an iota of pressure of any sort. Everything was quick, easy and just as she explained. On the Arusun, the snorkeling was great, Captain Hector was awesome and the rum punch was even better. The Antilla was a unique snorkeling experience. We read reviews that the pool water was cloudy. Absolutely not true. Pool was clear and well maintained daily. Upon check in they refused to give us a Beach Tower Room as we had booked until we insisted they call travel site #for some reason you cannot use their name in the review). This was despite e-mail confirmations that clearly showed we had booked a beach tower room. After two and a half hours, a call to this travel site and a required fax from this travel site and they finally relented. Great way to start the trip. After that situation, the rest of the trip was awesome. I highly recommend Aruba and I would even go back to the Divi Phoenix because of the great location.

Great hotel, nice staff, close to the action and beautifull beaches

Great location on palm beach loved everything about the divi phoenix aruba will be back for sure

Staff was friendly and helpful, overall cleanliness was good. We booked a room with queen bed, but got one with king size, BUT: The room we were staying in totally sucked. A lot of the interior was old and/or broken or totally annoying. E.g. They have in-room AC, so you have all the noise of the condenser and fans in your room, 3ft from your bed. The fridge was very loud too, each time it had to cool, it made a terrible loud sound, waking me up at night. These two things together kept me awake most of the nights, unless I was using ear plugs on my vacation... Cleanliness of the room was not that good, since there was a chewing gum sticking to the bathroom floor for at least two weeks and wasn't removed. The "fresh" sheets had blood on them two times, sometimes they were torn. Toilet seat was loose and I almost dropped of the seat once. One of the cabinet doors was broken. And There is not enough room for two persons to store all their cloths.

Nice resort that's a little off the beaten path of the other palm beach hotels. Amenities of a larger hotel without the throngs of crowds
