NH Caransa is located near Rembrandtplien, a busy area in Amsterdam. As a result, the tram traffic to the hotel is frequent, and the area is often noisey. Rooms at the front of the hotel are affected by the outdoor noise. It appears that the hotel is about 50 years old, yet the facilities seem to be in working order. The hotel lacks a lobby because the space has been rented to ground floor restaurants.

The location was perfect. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff were fantastic. Breakfast could have been better and not all the options were available. The shower soaked the bathroom floor and the room got very warm.

Great location in Rembrantplein, the #4 and #14 tram are literally right outside the door, and Waterlooplein metro is just a short walk away. Can get noisy during Friday and Saturday nights, but adds to overall fun and reminds you you are right in the middle of it all. They are in the process of upgrading rooms with A/C. We initially had a room without and it was a bit warm. We asked the desk, and they upgraded us to a room with A/C for the next night and subsequent nights (didn't have availability the 1st night). The staff didn't have to do that, but went above and beyond to do so; Top notch customer service!
