The hotel which is in the middle of an office building site, roughly 30 minutes by car or tram from the city center, has a modern design, rooms are fine, but the service does not reach the level. Several examples: - there are several terminals for self-check-in, and staff will check you in, but show that they don't prefer it. - there is a kiosk in the hotel lobby (no filled mini-bar in the rooms) where you can buy drinks and snacks, but the one person there, who also give concierge-like advice on tourism in Amsterdam, is often over-challenged with advising, warming pizza and selling drinks to several persons at the same time - the icecream bought from the kiosk came from a too warm freezer - the icecream was half-melted (and you could taste many ice cristals in the ice cream, that is, it has been half melted and frozen again several times) - I one discovered unpleasant dirt (no details) next to the elevators, which no staff member had detected before. Of course, when I told them, it was taken care off. - the SPA looks nice on the website, but in reality it looks a bit odd, with a low ceiling, a long aisle to walk to the quite small pool...... you notice it had to fit into the house when everything else was already planned - I left a leather folder in the room when I checked out (my fault, of course!) and it was nice that the hotel sent it to my home address, but, of course on my full expense and only after three e-mails and four phone calls (several persons with different responsibilties were present at different times.......!) So, all in all it is ok - nothing really bad - but you leave with the feeling that this is not quite it.
The hotel is relatively clean, however, we checked in on Thursday 12th October, and checked out on Sunday 15th October. Not once was our beds made, or bins emptied. Now I’m not posh, but when I’ve paid €477 Euro for 3 nights in the hotel, I expect my bed sheets to be changed, and the bins to be emptied. The heating in our room wasn’t working very well so the room was cold during the night. When we arrived we went to the bar and ordered 2 cocktails, which took 20 minutes to make. In the mornings before heading into the city, we would have went down to the reception to grab a coffee and a pastry. We would have had to stand for about 5-10 minutes until a member of staff seen us standing there to come over and serve us. The hotel is beautiful, just very expensive for what you get!!
Nice clean hotel with all the mod cons, tram stop to centre is 2 mins down the road and further 15 mins to Dam square. Only bad point was friend booked a junior sweet which had two single beds pushed together and our double room had a double bed but two single duvets.
We arrived at the Hotel at 10am (check in was at 2pm) with our bags. We wanted to drop off our bags so we could go and take a look round Amsterdam. The staff allowed this and safe placed our bags in a safe place allowing us to browse the streets of Amsterdam with ease. Once we had finished or day in Amsterdam we came back to the hotel and used the self check-in service. This was a very easy service to use and allowed us to check in in less than 1 minute. Our room was lovely and exactly how it looked on the pictures. You get what you pay for and we had a great view. We had a double bed that had 2 separate duvets (Not ideal) and a walk in shower and toilet. Also we had a view out the front of the hotel which was refreshing as I usually get stuck with facing a wall. The staff were very helpful and polite and allowed our stay to be the best possible. They answered any questions about how to get into the centre and welcomed us with smiles on their faces, There is a stop around 3 minutes’ walk away from the hotel that will take you straight into the town centre. We purchased a 3 day pass for 23.99 which allowed us to travel on any public transport around Amsterdam. Overall a very good stay and a really nice hotel. I would recommend :)
My stay in this hotel was wonderful!! Super clean, great friendly staff, easy access to the metro station (just 100m from the hotel) and to the tram (400m away) which can get you anywhere within the city, huge modern room, smart TV..and of course views!!! So beautiful)) The bed was so comfortable, that I really slept like a baby! I didn’t have time to visit the Spa facilities, but definitely it is in my to do list when back to Amsterdam. There were no wardrobe and flip flops, but I assume these are offered when booking the Superior room. Another very convenient thing is that there is a possibility to leave your luggage in the hotel’s store room after check out. Thank you, Corendon Vitality Hotel for your warm hospitality and comfortable stay!!)
Hotel was fine but too far from city centre . The tram takes at least 30 minutes to get to the City centre. The rooms were clean and breakfast was good. No toiletries except soap in the bathroom so carry your own stuff.
The room was comfortable and spacious. I was staying for business and our office is around the corner so was convenient for work and for commuting to the airport which is a short taxi ride or a short train ride with one change. Probably a bit out of town if you are exploring Amsterdam but transport connections are good. The bar closed fairly early so I didn't use it but there is a snack bar at reception with various food, drink and convenience items.
Stayed for 4 nights on a business trip for a trade show. The hotel is pretty well appointed and the rooms above average for a 'business' hotel. They have nice big walk in showers and very clean bathrooms. The restaurant in this hotel was particularly good with all the menu items freshly good by the chefs in the open kitchen. My only criticism would be the location if you want to visit central Amsterdam. Its a good 20-30 mins drive in and out of town but there is a metro station near by. For me we were at the RAI every day so it didn't really bother us.
From first welcome to check out, this hotel is top quality. The food in Cor and Dons superb and reasonably priced, as are the drinks at the bar. The spa is clean and very relaxing, small gym and pool and good sauna, steam area and tepid atrium. Bedroom light and well decorated with comfy beds. Overall helpful staff made our 3 night stay a real pleasure...thankyou.
I have stayed here a couple of times, and i have to say, for the money you pay, it offers excellent value for every cent!!! Both times i stayed here we had very clean rooms, comfortably heated, tv if you wanted it, but didn't bother, you can walk 5 mins from the hotel and catch a tram direct into town, takes about 10-15 mins, number 2 tram is best. It also passes the museum area of amsterdam, which if you are into your art and culture and history, this is a definite stop for you. I found the hotel quiet at night, and the breakfast for just 15 euro's was very plentiful, offering cooked breakfasts, and a huge array of continental foods like croissants, pastries, freshly sliced hams, various juices tea and coffee, and it really is have as much ad you like, ....very pleasant staff, full marks for me, defo coming back to here x
