Hilton Garden Inn Abilene3.0 out of 5.0

Avoid this property! The thermostat is controlled by 'motion detection'. In other words if you aren't doing jumping jacks all night the ac doesn't work (or heat in the winter) After a call to the front desk and an 80 degree room; the desk clerk came in and did something to over ride the system. Why reward such a management decision with a stay here? The sewer smell in the kitchen/bar area could at least be avoided. The room conditions are another matter
Always pleased with the Hilton products. This was my first stay at this location. I was pleased with everything. Employees were cordial and helpful. Location was in the middle of restaurants and shopping. Clean rooms and baths. Of course the Garden Inns have a restaurant but I did not access this one. I was pleased overall.
Charged me three days before arriving for two rooms I was canceling - $250 yet when we arrived they had NO ROOMS LEFT!! Horrible front desk service. Force to take a King Size bed - two women on business.
Great friends , great times , easy fun , good food , beer in West Texas big steaks and a mall right next store , life is good , pool was inside , not good , bar was great , patio was great but self serve
We booked this hotel at the last minute while traveling on business - I received the senior rate and paid $200 a night (Rediculous for the level and quality of room). Will NOT stay here again! It seems Hilton raises its prices when rooms are scarce. I know it's good for business, however it loses this customer's loyalty and service.
Very good front desk staff and clean public spaces. Room was average for a HGI but good and clean. Our only problem was the air conditioner. The thermostat on the wall did not move off of 70, regardless of what I tried. It was a hot evening and I slept either too hot or too cold, I just could not moderate the a/c. In fairness, I did not report it to the staff, and I'm sure they would have moved us or repaired the unit. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay with a delicious breakfast.
I have stayed at this hotel several times while traveling through central Texas. Always a great staff, clean rooms and great location close to restaurants, mall and Abilene loop. While traveling through the Abilene area I would definitely recommend this hotel.
This hotel has been my "go to" when I have business in Abilene, and I have given this place good reviews in the past. This time, though, it was awful. I arrived too late to have any hope of changing rooms (the parking lot was full). My non-smoking room smelled like strong, stale, cigarette smoke. There were food crumbs and trash on the floor (obviously not vacuumed). The beds were made, but when I lay my head on the pillow, the pillow cases smelled like they had been used multiple times before. I couldn't find a clean one. It was gross, and frankly, a surprise since prior stays had been fine. If this happens again, I will post again and find a different hotel.
This was my first stay at the hotel. I was very impressed with Andrea at front desk who was being yelled at by a lady and she kept her cool and was very professional the entire time. I did appreciate the restaurant guides the hotel had, made dinner super easy. The rooms were amazing and very clean. Will definitely be recommending.
Stayed at this amazing hotel with my fiancé. We were treated great by the front desk and by the manager I believe her name was Andrea. She helped us tremendously. Defiantly staying again in the future
