Elegant hotel Stay
We enjoyed our 2 night stay at The Belsfield in a spacious lake view room .. the staff/ service etc was excellent .. our check in was smooth & easy and the reception staff were excellent .. very helpful informative & welcoming. We enjoyed the breakfasts & dinner experience , again the staff were professional polite and helpful.. and the dining room is very elegant with lovely views over the lake . Our only disappointment was the fact that the guest lounges were not very warm ( all the open fireplaces seem to be blocked off) And as the weather was rather cold & wet .. we spent more time in our warm comfortable room than we would have preferred.

Excellent ! We had always liked the look, style and location of the Belsfield when it was owned by Laura Ashley but this was our first time staying. We did have reservations due to some guests leaving the negative feedback. But I can honestly say we had one of the best hotel experiences you could ask for, the stuff were friendly and very helpful. The room was large and had a very relaxing feel to it with great decoration. I’m Vegan and my wife is veggie but we had no problems at breakfast, the dinning rooms also have an amazing view of the lake. We had an absolutely fabulous time and will definitely be staying again.

A hotel I always wanted to stay at and I took the opportunity when I could. The hotel is living on its past. The place needs a lot of tlc to bring it up to standard it is shabby in places and attention to detail is lacking. We paid additional for a Lake view room and the view could not be faulted however the room was in need of the tlc I refer to, the wallpaper was torn in several places above the bed head there were pink stains along the carpet and the bathroom whilst big with a good shower again needed attention in particular to the bath panel and the mixer shower which was not in use. Breakfast is acceptable, hot food is cooked to order but for the price you pay I would have expected more choice and better quality on continental e.g fresh fruits or raisins/sultanas. The majority of the staff are very pleasant and helpful which makes you feel valued. I overheard a number of guests commenting that service/quality had gone down hill since the hotel was taken over. It’s a lovely location and could be an outstanding hotel if the small details were addressed but unfortunately I will not return as There are definitely better hotels in the vicinity and the icing on the cake was the £15 charge for parking which has been introduced.
