Handy for work trip
Nice view of the river from my room. Room was clean and the lady at the front desk was helpful. Not much beside the hotel but 5 mins walk from the millennium bridge and the Glasshouse international centre. I noticed some buses coming past (there’s offices nearby) which may take you into town but it’s be 25 mins or so to walk to centre of Newcastle I think

Shame about the jobs worth
Was staying for a week with work breakfast was not till 7 and i needed to be at work 7.30 which meant i wouldnt have time to sit and eat a full breakfast so i made my self a sandwich to eat on the way. Then 1 day a jobsworth told me it wasnt allowed then the next day she spoke to me a naughty school boy saying your not making a sandwich today are you. I'd paid £10 or £12 a day for breakfast and didnt think 1 toast justified the price

The permanent staff are what made our brief stay. Positioned in a super spot near to Millennium bridge and Quays area, the hotel is warm and welcoming. Our second floor room overlooking the river was small but very comfortable with a fantastic mattress (important for a good night's sleep). Decor is a little dated but clean and fine. Our main issue was the kitchen; we'd ordered food in the evening but when my husband's lasagne came out, the top was lukewarm and when I poked my finger in it was still icy cold at the bottom, quite a health risk. I have to say the staff couldn't have been more apologetic and kind - the meal costs were fully refunded and we did not have to pay for our on site parking. We will return but it did put a dampener on our evening after we'd spent a lovely time watching and listening to Dark Side of the Moon at the Life Science Centre.
