What you can expect

Set out for the ultimate Alaska adventure with a scenic helicopter flight and an unforgettable dogsled ride on a real glacier!
Depart from our Girdwood base and soar over rugged peaks, ancient glaciers, and the breathtaking backcountry of the Chugach Mountains. Your pilot will fly you to Punch Bowl Glacier—an expansive high-alpine snowfield perched 3,200 feet above sea level—home to our summer dogsledding camp.

After landing, you’ll be welcomed by professional mushers and more than 40 energetic Alaskan Huskies, including puppies who are always eager for attention. Learn how sled dogs are trained and prepared for iconic races like the Iditarod, and hear firsthand stories about Alaska’s mushing traditions from the mushers who live and work with the teams on the glacier.

Your visit includes an exciting dogsled ride across the snow, giving you time to take in panoramic mountain views, snap incredible photos, and experience this beloved Alaska tradition in its natural environment. You’ll also have time to meet the dogs, play with puppies, and explore the glacier before your return flight.

Fly with confidence knowing Alpine Air Alaska is the region’s most experienced and safety-focused helicopter tour company, trusted for more than 30 years for our expert pilots and strong safety record.

Roundtrip shuttle service from Anchorage or Girdwood is available for an additional fee.
Please call our office to schedule your transportation.
