Hotel Montana Zürich

We arrived at the Zurich train station at 10am one week ago, then a short 10min walk to the hotel. Upon arriving, the front desk lady was very nice and helped us with pre check in then took us to the bags storage room. We felt comfortable leaving our bags there. The check in area is small but efficient and has a small waiting area off to one side. The elevator is glass enclosed and you can see a small court yard around it. We went back to tge hitel in tge afternoon for check-in, a lot of bags was in the storage room, we had no problems getting our bags. Our room was on the 2nd floor, hallway was clean n pleasant. Room was clean and has enough space for luggages, tgey have one luggage rack which is fine fir us fir a one night stay, if we stay longer then we'd need another rack. The room has no air con or heating system, just 2 fan/heater units in the free standing closet with safe, again for a one night stay the closet size is fine. The furnitures is a bit scratched up, but fine for us. In the room, we were a bit warm from walking around in the city earlier so we opened the window for cold air, outside temp was in high 50s that day. With the window opened you can hear street noises but not when closed. We can hear noises from the hallway when people closing their doors, but no noise from next door rooms. Bath towels was white and thick. There's the 3 in one soap, same as hotel in Lucerne. Comfy bed with 2 fluffy & 2 medium pillows. Loved the breakfast buffet. Will stay again!

Next door is a porn shop. Noisy outside our window, had it open as it was too warm and couldn't turn the heat down cool enough. Need washcloths and more hooks for towels in the bathroom. Also a nonslip mat in the deep tub would be nice. Breakfasts were ok, but most of the glasses were dirty on the outside, had to go through them to find one without stuff stuck to it. Expensive.

Property location was great. Rooms were updated and comfortable. Also, had a great breakfast buffet.

Location of this hotel is fantastic and they provide good breakfast. However, checking in was a joke making guests do self check-in when the process could be so much faster if the staff did it. Also, hotel was not very clean. Our floor smelled like sewer in the morning after most people have taken showers.

Cute place for people who are happy with a simple hotel room and don’t need a lot of space. Reminds me of my favorite place to stay in NYC, the pod hotels. Very close to the main train station. Good breakfast buffet. I would definitely stay again.

Good price, location and breakfast. Modern and clean but didnt like certain aspects of their 'green' initiative. No electricity when you leave room.

The hotel is Convenient to public transportation and has a good breakfast. No air conditioning, so room was a bit warm.

Hotel is in centrally located, in walking distance from Zurich HB railway station and bus station. We booked 2 twin bed rooms for three nights for four of us. But during the check in, the receptionist gave us 2 double bed rooms (which I could have booked for less price) instead of 2 twin bed rooms. Next day they moved us to the rooms per our reservation. So, for the first night we did not get what we paid for; we overpaid without any refund.

The front desk was very helpful and the breakfast was really good.
