Normally I would give a property like this 4 stars. I deducted a full star for the hidden fees and charged associated with the property. The house location was perfect for what we needed. The house was clean. A little outdated but we expected that. The showers were super small and tight. The family area and kitchen were great. Everything we needed was there along with all the beach stuff you can ask for. Overall the house was clean, the communication from seascape was great. We walked to the beach and restaurants and enjoyed our time at the house. Nothing fancy but it served its purpose and we enjoyed it.
Now, when you initially book you realize that there is a $500 fee that is just added to the total. It’s not a cleaning fee or any fee I have ever seen before. I think it actually just said “additional fee”. This was in addition to the service fee, cleaning fee and administrative fee. So total roughly 1100k in fees. In addition they had a 4p check in and if you requested early check in you were charged an early check in hourly fee. I’ve booked at least 50 places in my life and never paid to check in early. I think this was done to make the place look reasonabllly priced compared to other locations and then the fees start which basically doubles the cost of the rental. I just think that’s sneaky and a terrible way of doing business. We rented it because we were a little late booking our vacay and had to book something.
