Unique Accommodation

We loved our stay on the Red Rattler, it is so unique and has everything you could need. The enclosed fully fenced / gated verandah was amazing for our little one to safely wonder around. It was comfortable and cosy. We will definitely be back one day. Well done to the owners on creating such a unique place to stay.

Fabulous stay

We had a fantastic stay at the Red Rattler. Instructions for check in were easy, and the property was very interesting to stay at. Beds were very comfy and we appreciated the use of the washing machine after bush walking in the area! Would come again, and highly recommend! Thanks Red Rattler!

Loved the accommodation/carriage. Great job!! Just a couple of suggestions. There were heaps of mossies, no spray or mossie coils or suggestion to bring any No oil spray for cooking. Dish washing liquid didn't wash well. Toiletries, only enough for 1 person. Website said coffee machine, but only plunger and would have bought ground coffee if known or our own coffee machine. Fun and unique stay in the Mudgee region. Clean, well appointed with all the necessary needs for a secure and self contained stay. Beds and linens super comfy. Best to check the opening hours of the pub restaurant across the road as not much else available. Highly recommend.

Red Rattler is an absolute wonderful place to stay. Everything was there that was needed. The peace and quite was lovely. Beautiful set out property with bush walks just through the gate. Loved the Silo bar especially on a clear night. Great little pub with great food just down the road. Highly recommended

The Red Rattler Is Amazing!!

The Red Rattler is a must-stay experience if you are in the area of Mudgee! Vicki and Pat have done such an incredible job transforming this Australian icon into an incredible and unique accommodation experience! Key highlights: - Beautifully styled and unique accommodation. Cozy and comfortable - Beautiful and peaceful location - Only a short drive into the town of Mudgee, surrounded by a beautiful landscape - Check-in process was a breeze - Vicki was so great and prompt with her communication. And was very understanding and kind when we asked to change our booking until the following week - Great supply of kitchen essentials (tea, coffee, and honey!!), toiletries etc. Couldn’t recommend this accomodation more. We will definitely be back. Also, be sure to check out the local pub and the Mudgee Observatory! Must-do experiences!

We loved Red Rattler Retreat.. Exactly as the pics portray... Such a great country experience..far from everything but witj easy access to Mudgee by car and a great pub in walking distance... Fantastic spot.

Great experience

The Red Rattler has been lovingly restored and put to great use. It is very comfortable with all modern convenience (just one item missing to make it even better: a coffee plunger please). The large verandah and fire pit area are great for relaxation and wildlife watching. Welcome pack of quality local products was very appreciated (yummy Rocky Road treats). A meal at the local pub, the Golden Fleece is a must to meet the very friendly locals as well as nearby Sofala, Hill End, and a bit further, Gulgong is a little gem. Easy and efficient process to book and check-in and plenty of info on area and the Red rattler. Recommended.

Perfect place to get away from it all

Perfectly appointed with everything you need for a complete getaway. Including some local wine and tasty treats from the lovely hosts. An easy drive into Mudgee and surrounding areas. We loved our last evening, enjoying the fire pit, under the stars and could easily have stayed for a week just to relax and soak up the serenity.
