Wow. Booked the room, pretty sure I booked for 2, had called ahead to say we are bringing our dog, which would be another $15 plus taxes. Walking in through plums of smoke, upon registration I was charged $44.40, an extra. $20 for dog, $20 for husband. Through the lobby through a gate that they lock the hotel in with. Walk trough a dimly lit cavernous room that holds an empty old pool. The room was dilapidated, carpet threadbare, bathroom was nasty, rusted fixtures, a tub we would never have used. There was a free breakfast buffet from 7-10 that we skipped out on, we checked in at 930 pm and left at 630 am. On the plus side it was quiet.

Rooms were fine. Food and service at the pub was good. Rooms above us were having a wild party that went until after 5am. When called the front desk to complain no one answered. It was extremely frustrating as we were kept up all night.

Traveling to ontario

When we got there we got the keys to both roon and went to our rooms to sleep. i was able to have my dogs with me not many places allow dogs and it was hard to travel from BC to Ontario but was grateful to spend a night here

The property is good however it is starting to show its age although everything worked. The swimming pool and hot tub has not been in operation since Covid. The include breakfast was above average, eggs bacon, sausage, potatoes, toast, cereal, etc.

Sketchy, not cheap

Got keys to wrong room , it was occupied and the manager says oh he was supposed to check out this am....wow you dont even check guests? Next room had bed bug traps under bed and shower had to be assembled as someone took apart the shower nozzle.

There is a restaurant which made it easy for dinner as we arrived late. There was one staff who was responsible for checking guests in, serving the food in the restaurant AND serving in the bar. The walls between room are very thin, we could the conversation of the people in the next room. Our room was on the main floor, there was one window that could not be closed because the bars were broken of the window!

How is this a 3-star hotel? The building is so old and dirty and equipped with bare minimum furnitures. The countertop of the bathroom sink is dirty, bathtub is dirty, the bedsheets are moisty… it has a coffee&tea section but it’s empty with water stains. It’s advertised with a pool and sauna but the pool is drained. We felt uncomfortable walking in and immediately wanted to switch hotels but apparently Whitewood has this hotel and one motel😂 definitely would not recommend, if you’re passing by, choose Brandon or Regina to stay. Not here

The owner is very nice. Its a large old run down property. Some safety issues with an empty pool without barricades in the centre. Breakfast was decent but ketchup is gross. Will still stay here anyhow haha
