It was not what we were expecting. It was clean. The grass was not cut and hadn’t been for awhile Tony did come to cut the grass on Friday blew grass clippings on driveway and the mower broke down and was left there and driveway was never cleaned up. Went to put garbage in the garage like they instructed and garage was full of garbage bags and animals had gotten in to them. Room where hot tub and sauna was was not very inviting. We would not recommend this place and will not be back.

The place itself was in a great location. Close to the Porcupine mountains and other areas we were interested in seeing. Everything was as described in the description. The only issue that we had was the cleanliness...the bathtub/shower still had hair, a used razor and bar of soap in it. There were cleaning supplies in the house, so we washed the tub and walls of shower before use. The couch and other areas of the house were covered in white dog hair. Anything you put down had dog hair on it when you picked it back up. Not a huge deal and definitely not a deal breaker for us as we also have dogs at home, but think the house needed to be vacuumed again. Was a pleasant stay!

Negatives: All four garbage cans I came across had garbage in them upon arrival, including used toilet paper and used paper towel -- pretty disgusting. No hand towels in the rest room. Tried the DVD player -- would not read the disk I inserted. Hot tub was lukewarm, water was slimy, and lots of sediment at the bottom -- seemed like it needed to be cleaned. Did not use hot tub at all aside from dipping a foot in which I felt like I had to wash after. On the forth day I noticed some small clustered red bumps on the inside of my arm. I spent lots of time in the woods so it's possible they weren't bedbug bites, but I'm pretty sure they are after doing research (including picture of my arm). Tried contacting the host about the potential bedbugs and haven't heard back from them.Positives: Easy check in. The door code worked. Sauna was nice, used it twice. Very short drive to porcupine mountains.

Winter wonderland

We picked White Pine for our family Spring Break trip this year. We took our snowmobiles. The house was affordable for our family. Close to trails had there been enough snow to ride . But that’s the way it goes :( . We still made the best of it. The house is older but very cozy, We would stay again . P..S. It snowed 12 “ the day we left LOL

Good location

Good property for access to the UP area. Property could use a smoke detector and at least 1 carbon monoxide detector. An upgraded mattress would be from our standpoint a good investment.

Great dog friendly location

We wanted a short getaway that would accept the dogs. This was perfect. Very dog friendly spot and area. Close to Lake Superior, Porcupine Mountains, and Lake of the Clouds. Modest house, homey. Very well stocked kitchen and bath. White Pine MI is a very small community without many services, which is why I didn't rate location as excellent. But, we came prepared with what we needed and enjoyed our stay.

Great Time in White Pine

We had a nice stay, the cottage has lots of amenities and was a very comfortable base camp for our hikes. Very accommodating to our kids and our dog as well. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice get away

Clean ,cozy, laid back, very comfortable. Lots of things to see in the area and good places to eat nearby. Waterfalls and lake Superior minutes away. Had the best time. The hosts were awesome and texted me back right away when I had a guestion. Was perfect for our family of 6. We plan on going back.

One Night Stay

Spent one night here during a 10 day camping trip. Close to the Porkies. Used for a hot shower and washing clothes. House was clean, updated bathroom and kitchen. House cooled down nicely with wall unit and ceiling fans in main bedroom and living room. Lots of games and movies for a rainy day. Washer needs updated, could only handle small loads. Quite neighborhood. Instructions well written out in house binder, included local eats and maps for area activities.

Fake eye lashes left on the kitchen counter (wondered about cleanliness of other areas). Hot tub shut down right after our king day hike. Manager blames us for running washer at same time. Says there was a note. Was NO note but 20 other pages of information including 5 things to fox the hot tub. First to change the filter. Messed with instructions for 2 hours. No partial refund. Poor run down area including this house. Only one restaurant for many miles.

Cozy home

The house was clean and all the cupboards and drawers were marked so we could find kitchen utensils. There was also plenty of things that made our trip more convenient like coffee filters and syrups, spices for cooking, ketchup, mustard, butter and things like that.

Location, Location, Location

This home is located in an amazing spot. The neighborhood is very nice with friendly people everywhere. It is a short drive to many of the best waterfalls and of course, the Porcupine Mountains. Well maintained and stocked. A very pleasant stay and would return for our next Eastern U.P, stay.
