Idyllic setting!

What a beautiful cabin to share a long weekend with our family! Plenty of space, and a wonderful setting. We really enjoyed hanging out on the back porch, happy hour at the awesome fire pit and floating down to Elk Shoals park a couple of times. Only wish we could have stayed longer! Beware, if anyone in your party is not good with stairs as there are lots of them!

Wonderful house and location on the river. The only thing that stressed me out was driving on the one lane gravel access road to the house. I never knew when someone was coming the other way and there were very few places to pull off. Since the road is a loop, it would workout better if it was a one way road.

Family Wedding Weekend

Very nice house!! Very peaceful and relaxing!! Everything thing was so nice. The only thing would be more than one hand towel and few more towels for the bathrooms. Everything else was perfect!!

Clean, peaceful, very stunning view of the River.

Well appointed. My wife and I stayed on the main floor with the Queen Bedroom and our Son, Daughter in Law, and 2 Grandchildren on the lower floor. Gave us, and them, some privacy and at night, allowed us to turn in earlier and them to watch TV on the lower floor versus main floor. We will be returning and recommend this cabin. We rated it a 5 Star base on other VRBO stays we have had over the years.

Perfect getaway

We decided at the last minute to go to the mountains to see the leaves. This house was perfect!! Granted, it can hold LOTS more people than just the 2 of us, it would be great for a family. It is right on the New river. The relaxing sound was just what we needed. The house was so nice that we would try to be back from our excursions by 3p. My hardest decision was where to sit.... outside at the bonfire by the river, on the lower deck with its comfortable seating while listening to actual vinyl records, or the main level with the gas fire table, gas grill comfotabke furniture. So mostly it was coffee in morning on main deck and afternoons on lower deck. We will definitely be back!!

No words can really express how lovely this home and it's location are. The home is immaculate, has all the amenities and is located on the most beautiful spot on the New River Owners are wonderful to communicate with and very responsive to questions

Loved Little Bird

Loved the cabin! Family really enjoyed the stay and the area. Was in town for a wedding at Sky Retreat and this was the perfect spot for family to stay. Highly recommend!

girls' weekend

We had the best time! The cabin is spacious and had everything we needed. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. We were a short drive from downtown West Jefferson, as well as the Old Barn Winery. Although none of us had mobility challenges, if you do, keep in mind that the home is 3 levels, and has 50+ stairs down to the river. We hope to be back soon!

River Beauty

We had a wonderful time at Little Bird Cabin! The cabin was all that the owners had made it out to be and more! It is easily reachable from downtown West Jefferson, but once you get there, you feel as though you are many miles away from anything. The house is set up very nicely with multiple living areas and outside decks for enjoying the view and all of the beauty around you. We will most certainly be back!

Great family vacation!

Beautiful cabin big enough with space for each family. Amazing porches and view. Fun time in the river. Also had a fun time at Virginia Creeper Trail and golfing. Great location. And loved all the birds!!! Definitely would love to go back!!!!

Beautiful cabin

We’ve stayed in many cabins in Ashe County and this is by far, our favorite and prettiest! Easy access to the river along with the kayaks provided, created a fun and relaxing atmosphere. We had 10 family members over 18 years old and it fit us perfectly. It was very clean and well equipped. We hope to visit again soon!!

The cabin was clean, had a gorgeous view, and was extremely well stocked! We had a group of 7, ranging in ages from 49-82, and the cabin was loved by all. We also really enjoyed the fire pit and appreciated the wood that was stacked and ready for use! The owners were very quick to respond the one time we had to reach out. This will be our group’s first choice if we need a place to stay in this area!

Very Merry Christmas in the Mountains!

Such a great cabin! very well appointed with almost everything that was needed. Kitchen was great for making Christmas dinner. Outside grill for steaks the night before. Games, puzzles, cards.... everything to keep us occupied even with -6 degree temperatures. The fire pit on the river was great as was the fire pit on the deck.... couldn't ask for more! We want to go back in the spring!

We always go to west Jefferson to get a Christmas tree so west Jefferson is a great location

Beautiful and Fun time !

This cabin was all we could ask for. The 3 levels were perfect for our family. My 88 yr old dad was able to stay on the main level and the fire pit out by the river was fun and the gas fire pit on the main level was our morning coffee meeting place. Several of the guys caught a few fish and being so close to Downtown West Jefferson was so nice for eating and shopping. We were only about 30 min from Tweetsie RR and took my 2yo grandson - great memories! He loved the river and all the fun at the cabin. Peaceful quiet cabin…

We had a wonderful time with our family and dear friends, but because my friend was 8months pregnant and we both had toddlers, it made the climb to and from the river difficult. Not pictured is another set of 40 steps down to the river. There were moments the dads went down with bigger kids while we stayed up at the house with toddlers. Even though we would have rather been all together. The space was nice and accommodated everything we needed. The beds and pillows were just okay, luckily we brought our own pillows from home. We loved the porch, especially when it rained. It was beautiful and peaceful.

We had a great time. Little Bird Cabin was awesome. Our family had a very enjoyable stay. the cabin was very clean and well kept. Plenty of linens. And kitchen was well stocked with all you need to cook. We used the fire pit every night and it’s in a great location by the river. We would love to try and get back for another stay.
