Room amenities ok, only instant coffee and creamer. Milk supplied when asked for. Room service ok. A little noisy early Saturday morning due to running club meeting outside, obviously no double glazing as we were on 5th floor

Wonderful staff assistance

The staff couldn't have been more helpful after I discovered I had made a mistake with my booking. They took the time to sort this out and were very warm in their manner. What had been a stressful situation was taken care of with ease and I was able to to return to peace of mind.

Terrible condition and well below average in all respects we only stayed because it was available as the James Cook Grand Chancellor was booked out. The manager should stay a night there to see what you receive for less money and in a much better location. This was one of my worst hotel experiences.

The room we were in was well dated- the hotel is well overdue for an update and renovation from the lobby onwards, We were in room 205 and the insulation between the rooms was pretty much non existent. We could hear all of the next doors conversations. The bathroom needs to have an extractor fan and the shower needs an upgrade. The water went all over the floor and despite the rubber strip to stop it spilling out further, it’s extremely unsafe to have the wet floor - especially without any extractor fan for the stream as well. Room lighting is in need of some additions as well as checking items work. Stand alone reading light for the single bed didn’t work and didn’t have a plug nearby to be plugged into. I realize it’s been tough going and not helped with the town hall work across the road but it could be so great if it had an update.its a great location. Also $14 for two pieces of toast with plastic packs for jams and butter was too expensive. At least for that price you can afford to give guests butter on a small dish and little dishes with preserves in them. Needs a relook from a pricing perspective and an update in that cafe/food area as well - it’s a great showpiece location but looks drab (sorry) but could be quite something especially with the street frontage….
