Great waterfront house

The house was well stocked and the owners were absolutely wonderful. The house is on a hill so if going up and down stairs is a problem for you then this isn’t the house for you. We got our steps in!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage with the kids and everyone had a lovely time. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc. and there were plenty of blankets and pillows. We did have some rain on our first couple of nights which caused a power outage for 3 days, but the cottage has a generator in the shed that powered the fridge, Wi-Fi, and TV while we were waiting for power to come back on which was a lifesaver!

Beautiful, Peaceful Retreat

We had a wonderful stay at this gem of a home. The owners were helpful and responsive and made check in and check out easy. The three stories in the house ensure that everyone has their own space. The full kitchen has all of the essentials and extras. Everything you need is provided - they thought of everything! The owners even left fishing equipment out after learning my sons wanted to fish. The water out the back is only a few steps away and so peaceful. We caught fish off the dock as well. There are plenty of games provided to keep the whole family enjoying the trip. We enjoyed waking up to stunning views and returning to the peaceful setting at night. This is a lovely home that made our trip and we hope to return soon! Many thanks to the sweet owners who take great care of this home and allowed us to enjoy it.

Very comfortable especially with three bathrooms. Might want to check on the dishwasher as it leaked one night due to a blockage of pumpkin seeds. Bottom tray is quite difficult to slide in and out. Excellent fishing. Thank you.

Family Vacation

We really enjoyed our stay! Everything was as listed no surprises, and great communication. Just be prepared it is a hike up and down to the water. But the fishing was great. We brought kayaks and used them along with the peddle boats. Very quite place we basically had the river to ourselves. Only thing needed are some fans for the other two bedrooms upstairs.

Nice cottage for all seasons

We were there for a family reunion during the winter break. Nice waterfront location with a wonderful quiet bay views by the ottawa river, looks more like a lake. The cottage is basic but had everything we needed. There were some toys and books for the kids. We enjoyed the indoor wood stove in the basement and the outdoor firepit. Nan was a very friendly and responsive host with suggestions and answers to our questions. He and his family helped shovel and push our car after it got stuck in the snow during the holidays. We would recommend using a 4 wheel drive vehicle if you plan to visit this cottage during winter due to the steep driveway. Pembroke is 20 min away for all needs with restaurants and a large grocery store. We went ice skating there and drove about 1 hr to Calabogie ski resort as Mont Chilly was not open for the season yet. Overall it was a nice vacation. I imagine it is even better in the summer and the fall!

Family Weekend

We celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. It was everything that was pictured but better. We had a fire outside in fire pit with 10 of us and a dog. We cosied the following night in downstairs with stove. Lots of room. Beautiful area to explore. We will book again. Thanks Nan

Excellent water front property and host

It was very nice vacation for us and our friends. The property is located at water front. The lake is very nice. If you love boating and water sports, you would love this property (boats are provided by the host). There are a couple of nice parks nearby, and some good trails. The host Nan was very helpful to our stay by giving us good suggestions. She always replied to me immediately when I asked her questions. We enjoyed our stay.

August vacation

We had a really great stay at this cottage. The cottage was great with lots of space for our family of 5. The bedrooms had comfortable beds and high quality sheets and towels . The internet and WIFI were excellent with a signal that even covered the dock. Paddle boats and canoe were great. The owners provided free firewood as well. Cottage property is very private with no cottages on the one side. Lots of steps to the water. Beach only 5min paddle away. Town with all you’ll need only 20mins away.

Real gem of a property and hosts!

Where do we begin? The listing was complete and almost does not reflect the gem this place is. It is clean, roomy and very well equipped. We have to comment on the linens and towels as they are quality as you would find in a fine hotel. We were a family of five with a small dog and we had plenty of space and could of even brought up the in-laws! The hosts were great at communicating and answering questions during our stay. We felt right at home with the comfy couches and well equipped kitchen. We had a few really hot days and appreciated the beach nearby to cool off and the air conditioning. The fire pit area was great and located in just the right spot. The kids loved the little play structure and ample chipmunks and salamanders under rocks :) one thing of note is that the property is quite high above the water and it is a walk to get to and from the water. It was made easy with a great set of stairs to get you there and back safely. For those with mobility issues it could be a problem getting to the water. There is a service path that could be used in that case possibly. With that said once at the water you are greeted with a ton of options to enjoy the water. There is a couple of paddle boats, canoe or even a 12” John boat (bring your own motor). We had success catching four different species of fish off the dock and lounged in the Muskoka chairs. Our 9 days were not long enough and the family is asking to go back already. We even were inspired and painted several paintings while there. Thanks for the great memories and it’s on the list for us to return!
