Absolutely love the La Plata Best Western! Amazing staff from housekeeping, front desk, maintenance, to kitchen/breakfast staff as well. They are all so sweet, professional, kind, patient, & accommodating. Great parking (front & back) & is never an issue. Very clean, very good breakfast offering (as these free breakfasts go). Lots of good restaurant options near by. Parking lot was well lit. I had the misfortune of staying there while several car enthusiasts were also booked, made for a lot of loud noise at 6 a.m.

Upon a arrival when I checked in there was a roach in the bathroom which I recorded and took pictures of. The hotel room had a very strong stench of urine as well. I report it this to the front desk and the gentleman was very rude I was only offered free coffee and roach spray. And then checked out canceled my reservations. I would honestly never ever suggest anyone to stay at this roach motel it stinks like roach spray as soon as you enter the lobby. The concierge at the front was it Indian man and he was so rude and disrespectful and would not allow me to complete my thoughts or my statements.

First off, the cable box for the living room did not work. That was frustrating. We couldn't hang out in the living room area because of it. The desk chair was disgustingly stained. Would not sit on that thing to save my life. The living room couch was also dirty. In addition, the property smelled like weed. There are signs on every single door for no smoking and people are smoking in rooms. That's not something I'd like my daughter to smell. The alternate exits by our room was propped open so made us feel unsafe. There were empty beer cans in the hall way sitting there as trash. And our toilet seat was loose and about to come off. Honestly I want my money back. It's unfortunate this happened.

Overall, very satisfied. Breakfast was substantial and offered a lot of variety (although the coffee was not good.) It would be nice to have water available throughout the day. I don't believe the vending machine offered water.

Upon checking in, I was assigned to Room 124 on the first floor, located to the right after the main entrance. Unfortunately, after a while i noticed that the main door to the room was poorly fitted. Once inside at night, the gap between the door and its frame created a serious concern for privacy. Light from the corridor shone clearly into the room through the openings, and it was possible to see movement outside as well as hear and observe people walking and talking in the hallway. Conversely, it also gave the unsettling impression that individuals passing by could look into the room. Due to this lack of privacy , I ultimately decided to leave the property and secure accommodation at a nearby hotel at approximately 11:30 p.m. that same evening. That said, I must commend the staff member on duty the evening of August 25, 2025. Her professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness stood out remarkably she truly is the heart of the property and the one positive highlight of my experience.
