Luxury stay-cation

The house and surroundings are beautiful. The beds are super comfy and the kitchen is equipt with everything you need and more. Private pool and loads of entertainment to keep us busy even if it was raining. A 10/10 from us, we'll definitely love to stay again.

Plenty of space, plenty of fun

Our group had such a wonderful time at Golden Sands! The place has so much space for all of us and our needs. The beautiful kitchen, big dining areas and multiple areas to congregate meant we never felt like we were on top of each other. We also appreciated the sleeping arrangements however the room that slept 6 was a little tricky for our singles and couples to share. Luckily with the fold out beds in the loungeroom, the extra space was appreciated. I would definitely book again for a big event - and would most likely take advantage of the extra accomodation on site (seperate to the house). Places like this are rare in the Top End and I'm really glad the venue exists - I'm already looking forward to the next time we visit!

Relaxed and Recharged

I was told by my sister about an amazing getaway location close to Darwin called the Golden Sands Retreat and it did not disappoint! We booked the accomodation for a crew of good friends for the sole purpose of relaxing, recharging, unwinding and disconnecting from work. The accomodation was fantastic for this. We walked on the beach, had BBQ's, went swimming in the pool and watched TV to relax. I would highly recommend this place for a family getaway or if you wanted to grab a group of friends to enjoy the stunning location together. We have already started talking about when we should book it again!

Overseas Dads 70th

We had the most amazing stay celebrating my Dads 70th who had travelled from the UK with his sister, and my sister & niece from NZ. The property is amazing, extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly think of from kitchen utensils, to board games. Amazing views of the ocean and great fishing spot just outside. We cannot recommend this property enough and would no doubt visit again. Thanks both for your hosting and excellent communication and assistance.

Getaway

We really enjoyed out stay at the Golden Sands, it was a great long weekend. Very roomy with great views especially from the top balcony. We all enjoyed the pool plus the pool table and the various games available. Recommend this accommodation to anyone.

Wonderful Christmas Holiday

Have stayed here several time and always enjoy the wonderful location, facilities and ease of contact with owner. It rained for most of the time we were there but there was so much to do that it didn't spoil our Christmas celebrations at all. Looking forward to our next stay. Thank you

Two nights to end our stay in Darwin.

After staying in central Darwin for a week the house at Golden Sands was a beautiful way to end our holiday in a stunning location. Lots of games for the kids ... who lost at round robin Olympics against the patents and sadly realised that Dad was a sweat on the old school video games. Darwin has lovely sunsets for sure but the sunrise on the Golden Sands balcony was something else.

Girls getaway

Our yoga retreat was incredibly relaxing in such a gorgeous setting. You want for nothing in this beautiful and expansive space. The deliciously cool pool was a treat and the various balcony spots let us spread out to read, chill and hang out. Thanks for providing such an excellent home to retreat!

Beautiful Property - Memorable Stay

We recently stayed at Golden Sands as a group of friends and two young children. There was nothing we could fault, the property was beautiful and presented clean and tidy. There is enough space for everyone yet ample room to have some space to yourself. The access to the beach is simply a few steps away and we just enjoyed sitting on the balcony, out on the grass or in the pool. There was nothing more we could want for. A highlight of the stay was heading down the beach and watching the hermit crabs.

Perfect weekend getaway with other families

We love this place on so many levels. There aren't many places that you can easily fit 3 families with young kids that are new, tasteful and well designed and this ticks the box. It's huge, and everything you could possibly want is there. The kids loved the huge downstairs area, the pool table and the retro sit down video game (pac man etc). There was a good selection of DVDs for them. There is even a kitchen downstairs. The pool is small but lovely- the kids had a ball and it did the trick. They loved the bubbles you could put on and the night light at night. The balcony upstairs is amazing and a highlight. We found ourselves relaxing there for for most of out time. You can see the harbour and the breezes were nice. Its shady for most of the day and has 2 beautiful trees in front of it. The place is beautifully renovated and the kitchen upstairs has everything you could possibly want and more. There are lots of places to hang out and so you never feel crammed in by others. Nothing like it I think within a few hours of Darwin. The kids loved getting the ferry over from Cullen Bay which is super quick and others drove with the gear from Darwin. Highly rated by everyone. Great for families and for a group of friends.
