The beds were really comfortable; nice mattresses, pillows, and bedding. The towels were nice, too (check the drawers in the bathrooms to find them).
We enjoyed the large backyard with chairs to enjoy the sun and a picnic table in the shade for outdoor dining.
The staircase is tall and narrow, and there’s only one bed downstairs (all the rest are upstairs).
The main heating for the main level is the woodstove (there are a couple of space heaters). It got a bit chilly for us even in August, but we didn’t want to light a fire if we were going to be gone most of the day.
The one main issue that we’d want to resolve before staying here again is that the house’s electrical system had problems. The first night my phone didn’t charge, but I tried a different outlet, and it charged successfully. There was no outlet in the upstairs bathroom, so we couldn’t use a hairdryer or curling iron there. The most serious problem was that a couple of days into our stay, my elderly parents lost power to their whole bedroom (outlets and overhead light).
The owner did send someone same-day to try to get the electricity to work again in that room, and the person they sent was very kind; but the person didn’t seem to know what to do. Ultimately, we solved the problem with an extension cord.
Again, we had a nice time! Thank you!
