Beautiful grounds and pool. Amazing views! Room was clean and spacious. Unfortunately, the wireless internet connection waa terrible, which meant the TV would not load channels and I was unable to work remotely. I told thw front desk but nothing was done. Also, their restaurants require reservations and by the time we checked in there were no reservatioms left at the main restaurant. Also note that no food from outside the hotel is allowed.

Great atmosphere, with good proximity to MXP and the Lakes. We ate ate the more casual on-site restaurants both nights as my wife enjoyed it so much. The staff is outstanding!

Good location, but no luxury hotel

The Hotel Villa Borghi was in a great location in terms of being close to both Milan's Malpensa Airport and gorgeous Lake Maggiore. The pool was well-situated with a view of the lakes in the distance. And the pizza place next door was nice and casual. But, if you are expecting a luxury experience, look again. The place is shabby. Paint patches everywhere, flooring popping up, even the placement of the door knob made the door to the hotel hard to close. It's clean, but not the luxury accommodation it seems to sell itself as. But if you just need a place to crash the night before catching a flight its OK.

Not a four star but does have a pretty dining room which was closed and decent pizza restaurant. Our room was a 2-3 star. No body lotion, two lightbulbs dead in chandelier n very old everything. Grounds show no care. No flower beds, scratch grass. Generally looks year past it’s prime. But with a bit of money could shine much better

The location and facilities were Beautiful, clean, well kept. We were so excited upon arrival but the good aspects end there. Staff were unfriendly, unwelcoming, not helpful and rude. We felt as though our presence there was an annoyance. Check in was horrible. The restaurant was closed , there had been no notice of that when we booked. The pizzeria on the grounds offered the worst food we've had in Italy. One reason we chose this location was that it offered a free shuttle to the airport - that's a lie. They booked the most expensive car available which upon arrival to the airport charged us 60 euros for a 20 minute drive. That was misleading and deceptive.

The historic hotel

Unbeknownst to us when we booked the hotel, we got the penthouse room with the most spectacular view. It was a totally gorgeous place that had hundreds of years of history behind it.. Awesome place!

Focused on events

I suppose this hotel really depends on events (like weddings, corporate events) to make its living. Guests seem a kind of afterthought. I suggest ask if there is an event before booking; stay away if there is.
