Skøgarmaör Meadow Cottage, Lake Of the Woods, Ward Island

Island getaway located in the heart of Lake Of The Woods Ontario near Kenora. World class Walleye, Northern Pike, Musky and Bass fishing. Boat access only, must bring your own boat, rentals are available in Kenora. Currently we are only taking 1 week minimum booking for August, September, October 2026 season, Saturday to Saturday. We are also booking May-October 2027 please reach out in advance to confirm rates and availability.

There are several places to launch boats and park in Kenora. The most common is the Kenora Recreation Centre public docks (18 Mike Richards Way, Kenora, ON P9N 1L2), which is just across the canal from Safeway. There is a public boat launch available and a large long-term parking that is fairly secure. Go inside the Rec Centre building to pay for parking, approximately $7.50 CAD/day. During weekends or off hours, you can still pay for parking by going further inside the building to the pool check-in desk. Some of our groups also launch their boats at the Clearwater Bay public boat launch and park along the Clearwater Bay Road.

This is a seasonal (summer) BOAT ACCESS only island. Guests must have a boat OR contact Green Adventures for water taxi (pick up/drop off) arrangements. Extra fees will apply.

There are weekly boat rentals available in the Kenora area, our recommendation is with Lake of the Woods Docking. https://www.lotwdocking.ca/kenora-boat-rentals
The cottage is heated and features a kitchen and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 3 bedrooms. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a fireplace, a coffee maker, and a travel crib.

The layout of the cottage is phenomenal, proximity to amazing fishing and owners that truly care. With this being an off grid site you do need to plan a bit such as coolers for drinks and gas for generator but the owners have it set up to be fool proof. We will definitely be back and will make this an annual trip.
