Chris the host did everything right for the most part. Having requested a late checkout and being told 1:00 and maybe even 4:00 for me then being told it would be an extra 50.00 per hour was a shock to say the least. Having owned beach houses in Florida for many years and having them listed on VRBO with the added advantage of serving as host to be able to communicate directly with my guests, I had late checkouts requested often and would have never thought of charging an extra fee. In addition, being told the only way to communicate with the host when he was not at the office was only through email. He informed me that he does not give out his cell so another unusual arrangement that was unheard of to me. Just coming from another VRBO house for the 1st week of our vacation and dealing with the owner directly through text on his cell, was quite the contrast, Fortunately, no major issues that required his attention so I’m grateful I can leave a good survey and would not hesitate to recommend this property to others — as a matter of fact, I already have!
