To say that the view is stunning would be an understatement. It's hard to imagine a more scenic location anywhere on the California coast. The house was very comfortable and well maintained. For a private retreat in an amazing environment, this place would be hard to top.

We loved our 3-day stay at the Abolone cabin. The views from the clifftop and from inside the home are beautiful. The setting is tranquil and very private. The house is well equipped and comfortable. We used the home as an ideal base to go out for the day to explore the area's parks, trails and coast.

This was our first time getting a vacation rental and we are so glad we booked this cabin. It was very clean and the views were amazing. It was the perfect place to explore the nearby beaches and redwoods. Despite the fog we still had some amazing views and lucked out with almost a perfect sunset our last night there. I would definitely recommend this cute cabin for anyone wanting to explore the northern CA coast and redwoods. We were pretty busy sightseeing and didn't even utilize the other little cabin and wish we had more time to hang out. But the woods around the area are so magical. So glad we got to enjoy this little slice of heaven for a few days!

Perfect Stay at the Abalone Cabin!

We had a wonderful visit. The cabin was clean, well‑maintained, and fully stocked with all the amenities we could possibly need. The beds were incredibly comfortable — we all slept so well after long days exploring! The views were absolutely breathtaking: we watched whales offshore and spotted bald eagles every evening from the patio.This was our landing spot for visiting Redwood National Park and the wooddrift beaches nearby. The space was a great fit for our group of six and felt cozy and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The listing clearly communicated that only one bathroom had a shower, so it was easy to plan around, and it worked out just fine for our group.We highly recommend the Abalone Cabin to anyone looking for a beautiful, serene, and convenient spot to experience the best of the North Coast!Loved the closeness to the market in town. We were able to check in about 30 minutes early, which was nice. Few recommendations: Needs a new can opener in the kitchen and toilet plunger downstairs.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. The views from the house are spectacular! Kitchen was well equipped. And morning coffee by the fire in the cabin was dreamy. Bonus: a short walk to Larrupin for dinner.

Amazing view. Cabin is centrally located. We spent a whole day visiting local beaches and then a whole day hiking in the redwoods. We didn’t have to drive far from the cabin for either.

Beautiful property

When we drove up to the house, we were excited by the view of the ocean and the many sea stacks. The house has lovely art and overall is just beautiful. Some of the Russian artwork brought about interesting conversations. We loved Agate Beach, and Just hanging in the front yard. The Trinidad Retreat Contract is extensive and I found them to be formal. Overall it was a great vacation.

Lovely Abalone House/Cabin in Trinidad CA

The cabin (actually a house and cabin) is very nice, well-kept and very clean. The kitchen was very well appointed for cooking. But we did very little as we were on vacation! There is not a pantry to store purchased food from grocery store, so things were left on the counter. That was fine with us. Refrig was nice, clean & big. You could store food in there if needed. There was plenty of paper products & garbage bags. We had plenty of room as it was just 2 of us. The beds were comfortable, plenty of linens, pillows, and towels. There is also a washer and dryer. This allowed us to pack on the lighter side. Everything was in good working order. The ocean view out front was stunningly beautiful! We often heard seals barking and able to see them with binoculars. The area the house is in is absolutely beautiful. I loved all the lush vegetation on Stagecoach Rd. We used the house as home base and did many day trips. For us the location worked out well as to the areas we planned on visiting (the coast line, redwood forests, and hiking). There are TONS of hiking trails in the area and it was fun to explore. Two suggestion we have. One is more light for reading in the living room and over the kitchen table. That was challenging at night. During the day it there was plenty of light with all the windows. The other suggestion would be foot ottoman(s) to elevate your feet. We definitely would stay here again in the future. Thanks to Trinidad Retreats!

Amazing Stay!

Great Getaway!

We stayed here in 2023 and just had to return in July 0f 2024 - this is the perfect place for tranquility, privacy, peace and relaxation. Perfect place to eat outside on the patio as the sun is setting and waves crash on the rocks down below.

All I can say we were sad there were only two nights available for our stay but so thankful we were able to stay the two nights. It is a cool place in every way. This property was absolutely amazing. From the location to everything we wanted to see to the views from every room in the cottage. Full kitchen with everything you need and 2 full bathrooms. The old cabin was my favorite part for after a long day of hiking to kick back and watch football. Overall one of our top 5 placea we have been and we have been on 27 trips in the past 4 years.

Wonderful Stay / Beautiful Property

Great stay! Property is well taken care of, exceptionally clean, and looks a lot newer than the photos show. Kitchen is well equipped with all the utensils and cookware you need. Downstairs has a bedroom, and bathroom in the hall with shower and soap/shampoo/conditioner. Upstairs has two bedrooms and washer dryer with detergent. Cozy detached cabin has large sitting area with Smart TV. The thought they put into every detail from extra towels, blankets, etc was stellar. All linens were fresh and clean, and beds exceptionally comfortable. Great WiFi in home too. Location is fantastic. 15 minutes to Safeway Grocery Store and 30 mins to the Redwoods. Try to visit on a Saturday…Farmers Market in Arcata is a fun stop. Hoping to visit again soon!
