Paid Too Much to Feel So Unwelcome
We stayed for three nights as a family of four during our summer holiday, with children aged 2 and 11.
We received a warm welcome from a friendly receptionist, and our spacious room with a beautiful view was one of the highlights.
We have travelled extensively in Tyrol and always valued the region’s hospitality, but unfortunately this experience did not fully meet those expectations.
The room was only cleaned once, and wooden splinters on the terrace meant we had to remove four splinters from our 2-year-old’s feet.
Dinner was served at 19:00 with little flexibility for families with young children, and the atmosphere felt formal rather than family-friendly.
A waitress in a supervisory role appeared stressed and communicated in a way that felt unprofessional, although some international staff were genuinely kind and helpful.
On our final evening, despite having half board, we chose to eat at a nearby pizzeria because the dinner setting did not suit our family.
The hotel’s surroundings, lake walk, location, and views are truly beautiful.
However, we felt the hotel mainly caters to older guests and is not fully adapted to families with young children.
At times, we felt more like we were in the way than genuinely welcomed.
Considering the price, service, and overall experience, we rate our stay 2 out of 5 stars.
The room and location are excellent, but families may find a more cosy and welcoming place elsewhere in Tyrol at a better value
