My husband and I stayed 5 nights in a budget room. This was our second stay at this hotel. We had to switch rooms because of an unpleasant smell (which I can only describe as “old”) and suspicious white powdery flakes all over the floor. The second room was only slightly better. It was somewhat worse than our last stay and the only reason we stayed again was because the location was perfect for our needs and near relatives. However, we will stay somewhere else in the future. It was just not comfortable and everything felt a bit dirty just because it was old and not updated enough. The hotel staff were all very nice and accommodating.

Forward Hotel stay

We stayed at this hotel last year, they gave us a different room, it was bigger, cleaner, and the furniture are all n good condition. This year, we decide to return and stay in the same hotel, to our surprise, the quality went down . The service and breakfast were really good, but the shower door has crack and can not close properly, and mold in the tile, and the TV table was kind of broken, the sheet smell like it is not fresh, for that price in Taiwan, I expect the hotel quality in much better condition than that. I was disappointed.

Good price for the location

The location was good, subway just beside the hotel. Breakfast was mainly local dishes. Housekeeping was good. Beside hotel is also a convenience stall. Staff are polite and friendly. Have to walk a little to find food. Cabs are generally waiting outside the hotel too, no need to walk out. The bed was a little soft though. I was given a key for hotel room not keycard.

Excellent location accessible to Metro, nearby shops, restaurants and night market. Very nice people, immediate response to any questions or concerns. Wonderful breakfast, western or Chinese style. 5th time we have stayed here-great value for the traveling dollar.

Looked promising, but disappointing in the end.

The hotel is located in a good centralized area of the city. It's REALLY close to the subway, taxi/buses, and convenience stores. The hotel in general was very clean and staff were helpful and attentive. It's once you get to your room to rest where the disappointments start. The room I had was clean, however it had a mild smell of cigarette smoke throughout the room which made relaxing in the room a challenge. Also, since as mentioned the hotel is near a busy area of the city, road and street noise were VERY noticeable. Of course some noise is expected but it was almost as if there were no windows in the room and you were sleeping outside it was so overwhelming. I can't imagine there was any sound insulation at least in my room. I cannot recommend this hotel as it's not a tranquil resting space as you expect from a hotel after a long day in the city. As the title of this review suggests, this hotel looks great on the outside, it's only when you want a good night's sleep do you find out that you probably should have looked elsewhere.

Need some improvments

The shower had tap must be replaced with a new one. I was not able to have a comfortable shower because the shower had been old and blocked. It is cost nothing to replace but still the hotel do not replaced them. I stayed in two different rooms and it was the same in both. The breakfast is very simple and not satisfied.

Nice and comfy hotel close to metro station

Service was great and location was very convenient. We were so impressed that the metro exit is right in front of the hotel entrance! It's in New Taipei City but it took us only around 15 mins to get to city centre. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The only imperfection was that we could not get access to the hotel wifi though staff had tried their very best to help. Anyway we bought data sim card so it's just a minor problem. Highly recommended!
