Great hotel and helpful staff. I would stay there again if given the chance. The one suggestion I have, which I hope hotel management would read, is to vary the breakfast and dinner buffet dishes. Without variety, it does get tired after 2 or 3 days.

Kindness hotel lives up to name

Nice location near Chihkan. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Front desk helpful and speaks English. Lovely snacks and repetitive breakfast/evening snack but there’s so much to eat in Tainan the snacks were more to keep my kids satisfied until next meal.

Nice, clean hotel. Staff were very nice and great breakfast, snacks and light dinner options! Rooms were on the small side but it’s fully stocked with shampoo, conditioners, body wash and lotion..if you’re here for a few days. It’s a good place to stay! Closed to restaurants and some attractions.

I just came from Kindness hotel at Kaoshiung Main station, which I was very impressed with. This one is a lot less so even though it came with a supper. Upon entrance the room, there is a smell every time even though it seemed to have disappeared later on. Supper was mainly noodles with little other options compared with what I saw at another Kindness hotel near the main station in Kaoshiung. Lounge area is less attractive than the one in Kaoshiung main station, and so is the overall service and politeness of the staff. When I enquired about a possible late checkout on the evening of June 21st around 9pm, the male receptionist retorted very impolitely (by Taiwan's standard) and said "evey hour late will cost 200TWD". It was his tone and how ridiculous it was since MOSt hotels will try naturally to make an effort to accommodate and apologize but willing to extend for say 1/2 hour. The implication is that the hotel will have workers start cleaning all the rooms at once at12noon. I am not sure if I will stay again at this hotel.

The hotel is a bit of a walk from the train station (about 15 mins) but well worth staying there. It’s super close to many of the main attractions (Chikkan Tower and the Grand Mazu temple are about a 5 min walk, Beiji Temple is 30 seconds away and other main temples, and the department store are around 10m - 20m walk). The breakfast buffet is amazing (I love an egg station). They have free drinks, snacks (including yummy jasmine tea jelly) and ice cream available. They also have free bike hire available. The staff are all super friendly and when I couldn’t find a local map in English, they actually printed one out for me - so thoughtful!. All the staff spoke English (which is good as my Mandarin is incredibly limited). The hotel is very clean and they take hygiene very seriously. My room was huge and could easily accommodate two people. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Tainan.
