STAFF!!! We prefer to stay at 3+ star hotels just because the properties tend to be newer and fresher. But our trip was impromptu to see a family member in hospice. It was a very long drive from San Diego and we didn't have enough info to book a room before we left. We literally booked on line when we drove into town (exhausted) via Expedia and seconds later walked in the hotel to check in before driving north to the hospital. The young lady "Polley" who checked us in could not have been nicer!! She was sooooo kind and pleasant. A genuine breath off fresh air compared to so many staff these days. When we later returned to the hotel with our suitcases in tow Polley gave us a second round of ice cold water bottles and wished us a good night's rest remembering we'd driven all the way from San Diego then to a hospital. The staff the next morning at the continental breakfast was also very nice. I say all of the above because not everyone's travels are attributed to "vacation". The reason for our trip was sad, the expense unplanned. But Best Western Galt Inn delivered on all fronts. Linens were fresh and clean and we got a great night's sleep before the next day's return 7+ hour drive back home. We're so thankful for both Expedia and the staff at Best Western Galt Inn for making our unexpected travel as easy as possible under the circumstances.
