Loved this Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at the Colorful Cottage. So beautifully decorated and it had everything we needed. The hot tub was perfect for easing our aching muscles after long days of hiking.

Wonderful cozy home

We loved our stay there! The decor of the house is absolutely beautiful! The kids enjoyed the hot tub, and the fall leaves made the perfect scenario for a relax getaway with the family.

Beautiful house!

We came for a girls weekend and had a lovely stay. The house is gorgeous, plus clean and well maintained. The hosts were easy to get in touch with and very helpful.

Relaxing getaway!

Enjoyed a relaxing getaway with friends. This place was just what we were looking for. Amazing decor, enjoyed hot tub and fire pit. Was tucked away to feel just far enough away from it all. We spent some time by river just about 20 min away. We were pleasantly surprised to find the extra roll away beds So there was plenty of space for 8 of us ladies.

Great family and friend trip!

We had 2 married couples, 2 babies and a dog on this 3 day trip. The house was perfect for accommodating us. Bright, vibrant and plenty of space. It was clean and as pictured on VRBO.

Serene and modern - hot tub, too!

The property sits on a crest of a hill, surrounded by trees and tranquility. Once you’ve ascended the driveway, you’re in a jewelbox-like house with lots of space and color. The beds were super comfortable, and the kitchen had cookware for almost anything. The hot tub was truly special- it’s set apart with its own deck, lights, and shade sail. Wonderful stay, communicative owners.

Shenandoah Gem

This was the perfect spot for a group of friends from across the country to gather and celebrate love and the beautiful landscape. My wife and a portion of this group stayed in this beautiful home for a wedding celebration nearby. We loved the vibrant colors and character to each room. The seclusion of the property was also quite appealing.

Hiking and hot tub getaway

This was the nicest, well prepared, accommodating place we've ever stayed. It was so refreshing to find a place so eager to cater to folks bringing their fur babies. After a very nice hike to Rose River Falls the kitchen was so fresh and ready to prepare a great meal. The bathrooms stocked with everything we'd need and the hot tub was so inviting, we stayed in it for HOURS. We will definitely return to stay here and don't recommend anyone else go there so we can have it all for ourselves lol. No, if you pass this house and these hosts up, you're making a mistake.

Great home, terrible location if visiting JMU

We stayed here because we were attending a graduation at James Madison University. The home was magnificent. Communication with the property manager was fine except for the fact that the location for the home is a complete lie. The listing says about 27 minutes. I messaged the property manager and they CONFIRMED with me that the property was indeed 27 minutes away. After graduation and dinner, we head to the home and the GPS tells me it’s going to take more than 50 minutes to arrive to the property with no traffic. My family and I were absolutely upset about the location and the fact that we were lied to. The listing does read that the drive is in the mountains. Please be prepared for the scariest and longest drive of your night. Especially in the dark. Never again.
