Check in was easy with good communication with the owner. We got settled in and noticed some things that were some issues but not deal breakers for the stay. The sink faucet was very loose, almost to the point of coming off. Again, not a deal breaker. The closet in the bathroom was pushed inward when we arrived. It was the owners closet so we were not using it but still reported it just so the owner would know. Again, no issue towards the stay. The deal breaker was the animal which I am assuming was rats running through the walls in the kitchen. This prompted me to start looking around for more signs of rodents. In the laundry room, it clearly smelled of urine. Upon further inspection, there were fresh rat droppings by the hot water heater. Two holes in the ceiling above the hot water heater looks to be where the rats were coming in. To further confirm that there were rats was a rat trap behind the washer and dryer. At this point, we packed up and left the home. We communicated with the owner that we were leaving and told him why. He informed me that the cleaning crew said the home was “perfect” when they left prior to our arrival. We offered to pay for a nights stay even though we’re only there 2-3 hours. We would have paid half of the stay but was never refunded a dime. My mistake was I never took pictures of the issues and that’s my fault. I am 60 years old and never left this kind of review before. Renters beware….
