New Moon is a charming one bedroom house for rent in Coral Bay, on the island of St. John. Surrounded by trees, with beautiful views of Coral Bay and Bordeaux Mountain, New Moon provides the perfect couples’ getaway. New Moon offers a spacious kitchen, beautifully appointed with hardwood mahogany cabinets and bar. This intimate residence will make you feel right at home as you enjoy all St. John has to offer. New Moon provides the perfect base from which to explore the stunning beaches of St. John and the unspoiled beauty of the Virgin Islands National Park. Located 10-15 minutes from beaches and trails on either the North or South shore of St. John, swimming, snorkeling and hiking opportunities abound. A variety of restaurants, shops and bars are less than ½ mile away in Coral Bay, and the bustling nightlife and shopping of downtown Cruz Bay can be reached via a scenic 25 minute drive.

New Moon was custom built by the owner with the protection of the environment in mind. Surrounded by lush foliage, the house includes a bedroom and bathroom upstairs, living space and a fully equipped kitchen downstairs, and wrap-around decks on both floors from which to enjoy the views and stargazing.

This property was absolutely fantastic. Communication was great throughout, and the house itself was beautiful. It's just a few minutes outside of Coral Bay and was easy to get to, with a jeep or four wheel drive due to the steep hillside. The house was exceptionally comfortable and well appointed. For anyone who enjoys nature, this is your place. The night sounds with the frogs were amazing and lulled us to sleep each night. And the views are breathtaking. We look forward to visiting again and would definately select this home!

Little slice of heaven

The craftsmanship of the cottage was impeccable! We met Tim who built them and is part owner; incredibly nice and amicable. Jill was there to meet us and the info she gave prior really made a difference in our trip. She was very informative on the area, and had several books on where to go for snorkeling, hiking and food. Lots of accommodations including first aid kit, coolers and chairs for the beach, spices and utensils for cooking, a grill, etc. On days we didn’t snorkel, we stayed in the cottage and lazed about. The iguanas, the numerous bird species and bats at nighttime were pure endless entertainment. We spent a week there and it wasn’t long enough. The locals were super friendly and hospitable. Definitely hope to go back! Thank you Jill and Tim for a perfect honeymoon getaway!!

Amazing escape in Coral Bay

This was our first time staying in St. John. We heard great things about Coral Bay and loved this location. It has quick access to the north shore beaches and quick access to the east and southern beaches as well. Jill was very kind to meet us in Coral Bay upon arrival and took us up to the house and gave us a rundown of the property as well as recommendations for grocery stores and restaurants. The home was very clean and very well taken care of. The property is very private and we felt like we had the whole hillside to ourselves. We loved the treehouse feel to the property with the screened windows and fans. We felt like we had a very authentic tropical island experience. The evenings were amazing, the forest came alive and the sounds of birds and bugs made for a peaceful sleep. I’ve stayed in many vacation homes and this bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in, the next best thing to my own at home. We cooked in for most of the dinners, and we had everything we needed to prepare our meals. We also used the grill to bbq a few times and it was great! I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for privacy and looking to stay on the quieter side of the island.

Great location, very comfortable and private

We enjoyed our stay and exploring St. John. We had been a little apprehensive about staying in Coral Bay, but we found it peaceful and convenient. Several local markets met our needs and a couple of restaurants were casual and had good food. The apartment was unique and the builder had taken care and pride in the design and workmanship. It was great for the two of us and we would gladly return.

Great little tree house

Perfect getaway on St. John. The property is tucked into the trees with a comfy bed and bath upstairs and well stocked kitchen downstairs. We love the coral bay side of the island and it's a quick drive to the shops and restaurants and nearby beaches. Perfect for a couple.

Good Coral Bay Location

The cottage has everything you need for 2 people. The drive up is steep but paved. Close to 'town'. There are other properties nearby, but the foliage makes it feel pretty private. We would stay again.

Amazing cottage. Very clean, cute and well-maintained. It has a beautiful view from the bedroom. Kitchen was equipped with everything you Might need. There is no A/C, but we were not bothered by it because it does not get too hot in the cottage during the day and the nights were cooler and really comfortable. The neighborhood cat, Patches, is an absolute sweetheart! The location is great because it is a few minutes from great restaurants and grocery and 15 mins from the beach. The local culture and vibe is very relaxed and chill. We loved our stay!

We stayed at the new moon location. Up in the trees, amazing view, usually had a nice breeze, can get warm in the middle of the day but we were out and about at that time so the morning evening and night were nice and cool with just a fan. Nicely built and everything you need, good location on the quiet side of the island. Would like to come back, but may have to bring our kids next time and this is a single couple set up. We enjoyed it very much, peaceful, beautiful and relaxing.

The home was as advertised with an excellent sweeping view from mid-mountain top! We stayed for a wonderful 5 nights, close to downtown locations Rams head, ect. Downtown restaurants we're good with open mics and a Saturday morning bazaar. The owner and manager were super supportive, very helpful and a pleasure to do business with! Would stay there again!

Simple and Relaxing

My husband and I stayed at New Moon for our 36th wedding anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The house is clean and simple, but had everything we needed. We enjoyed the tropical landscaping, the beautiful craftsmanship that the owner put into building New Moon, and the laid back feel you get just being there. As others have mentioned, there is no air conditioning, but the fans (5 total) kept the island breezes moving. The shower had plenty of hot water and was refreshing. We bought 2 cases of water for drinking which we would recommend. The beach chairs were nice, plus there was a small ice chest and ice packs. There is a nice variety of movies and books. As far as games, they have checkers, backgammon, cribbage and chess. We appreciated that the house had soap, shampoo, conditioner, bug spray, and reef safe sun screen. The kitchen had plenty of utensils, pots, pans, etc. including storage containers, small Ziplock baggies, and foil. We used the grill, and it worked well. The hammock was uncomfortable. Staying at New Moon will definitely require going up and down a lot of steps. The house is easy to get to by Jeep.. If you've never been to St. John before, we would highly recommend it, and if you like to get away from the action, Coral Bay is the place to be! There are some great restaurant, and a few shops, but mostly you'll be relaxing. exploring the many beautiful beaches, snorkeling, hiking and living the dream!

Stunning place to celebrate our honeymoon

This place is truly magical!! The owners built it and you can feel the love and thoughtfulness in every detail. On the second floor is the bedroom and it feels like you are in the trees with the birds. Great spot if you love nature. I also felt good about our choice bc there was an emphasis on conservation of power and water, which is important to us. My husband and I love to camp so we were good with no air conditioning. There are fans and the way it is constructed and located makes it very breezy most of the time. The view is incredible from the first and especially the second floor. Waking up to the mountains across the valley is hard to live without now! We took the advice in the binder and put a bowl of sugar out for the Bananaquit (sweet little birds). It was very entertaining. Also Jill, our greeter was wondeful! She left us a bottle of champagne to celebrate our wedding and gave us a coupon for Skinny Legs, a local restaurant. She even texted after we left wishing us safe travels and hoped we enjoyed our stay, so thoughtful!

Tree house getaway!

The new moon villa was perfect for our week on the island. We liked the location of low key coral bay, with still being close proximity to the north shore beaches. The home was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It was quite warm while we were there (never got below 80 degrees over night) therefore sleeping was an adjustment just because I am used to sleeping in colder temperatures but the bed is very comfortable! Thank you Jill, you were a great host!
