Granny Flats

Quiet setting. Very relaxing. Deer in the yard every day. I didn’t realize that there was no TV. I would have brought card/board games. Also I would have made sure that my own products were biodegradable. I have skin allergies and cannot use a lot of products.I would highly recommend this place!It was wonderful!

Quiet little apartment

The property was quiet and quaint. We really enjoyed that part of the visit to Spearfish. Slightly misadvertised as a "house" with a hot tub.Very little "cookware" and dishes. The coffee maker was a french press (nothing wrong with that.. we love french press coffee.) The toilet was "interesting.." overall,still worth the stay.

For Mom

Really enjoyed our stay. We were back for my Mom’s funeral. It was so nice to be able to stay someplace that was quiet after spending time with family. The grounds were beautiful. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us.

Omg this place is so cute

Friend and I have been coming to Black Hills for Mickelson half marathon this was our third time haven’t been pleased with where we stayed until this trip. Will definitely stay here again btw I referred a friend to this place.

Ideal spot

This was such an ideal location for us and our 2 dogs. The house was charming and beautiful, and the small fenced yard was soooo nice to have for the dogs. We ran into Cappie, who was super friendly and welcoming. Location is fantastic - it feels like this idyllic spot in the middle of nowhere, but it's so close to breweries, restaurants, parks, and the rest of beautiful Spearfish. Can't wait to stay here again next time! The guidebook at the property is super helpful too!

Peace and Quiet

We enjoyed our time at the Swisher house. The property is so quaint, and it’s a fun little explore. Waking up to deer in the front yard and seeing the chickens across the way—so charming! Spearfish is a wonderful town and we loved being so close to everything.

Very cute

This property wa as quiet, comfortable, relaxing, dog friendly, and just what we were looking for. The property manager communicated well and it exactly what was listed. Wildlife, chickens, and a cute little fenced in yard for the dogs.

Short of the heating , which we still were worm through the weekend. Not having a two burn cook top would have been ideal. And more cost savings for the Tendent.

Lovely space - just perfect getaway

My husband and I spent the weekend here with our pups and had the best time exploring Spearfish. Loved the recommendations the hosts shared for hiking and for places to go eat. The space was incredibly well kept and decorated. We felt very comfortable. The private fenced-in area was a HUGE win with our pups who loved to watch the chickens and other wildlife roam the yard. We felt confident in letting them sniff and explore from their safe fenced-in area without having to keep them on leash. As mentioned by other reviewers, the composting toilet is not a big deal at all - no smell, nothing weird other than having to step up to get to it.

Fun location

Great little spot for the weekend. Close to trails and the river. Cold plunge pool right on the property. Deer visited the yard everyday we were there. Close to restaurants and breweries. Quiet!

A must stay

My wife and our dogs enjoyed a complete experience for staying at a turn of the century home. If you want to enjoy life without any distractions we highly recommend this place. The people were engaging and very personable. The location is close to a running/walking trail and dog park. We will visit again.

Very Unique...

It was interesting when we found out the house was the oldest home in Spearfish to have people live in it. Unless I missed it in the website description, the outhouse was a bit of a surprise... Now that was VERY interesting! My husband was disappointed when he learned there was no TV, but ended up kind of enjoying that for one evening.
