"A very comfy and cozy cabin, in a peaceful setting. Located beside the river, yet close to downtown Smithville, it's great for both relaxing on the deck (on back side facing the river - see photo) or down by the riverside and for using as a base to explore the area. My wife and I loved it. It is very clean and the host is super responsive. Now this is a smaller place, suitable for a couple (2 couples if they are very comfortable with each other - no privacy in loft with beds) or a couple with one or two small children - IMO no more than that. Everything (kitchen, bath) is downsized but very functional. Be aware that there is a spiral staircase leading up to where both beds (one full, one queen) are. While it is cool, it would be difficult for anyone who has trouble with stairs - it is narrow and the steps are tall - maybe 18 inches. There is a chain railing, but it's easier to hold the center support pole, for safety. While peaceful, you will hear the occasional train horn, and you're close to the small airport, so at times a small prop plane will fly overhead. All this being said, we would definitely stay here again; for us, the benefits far outweigh any drawbacks."
