Good value hotel and spa

We had a nice stay. The hotel grounds are lovely. The hotel room was a bit weathered and in need of some TLC, but was big, clean and comfortable. It is good value for the room and use of spa (which is also a bit weathered). Would definitely stay again.

Was put in the school masters accommodation and feel it needs renovating and looks and feels outdated. The shower was constantly going (not just a drip but not full on) so was quite loud. Went to reception and the staff member was great, she moved me straight away to a newer section of the hotel and this was fine. Some areas of the hotel need updating.

Staff were very welcoming. Beautiful grounds and easy to travel into Shrewsbury. Fantastic stay, breakfast was lovely.

Great Hotel, great location

Checked in early which was great Room is lovely, very clean and comfortable. The hotel is great throughout. Slight issue with dinner due to being much busier than the hotel anticipated and had catered for. Breakfast was great, the poached eggs were to die for. Service was great in the bar and at breakfast. The restaurant manager at breakfast was amazing. We'll definitely return

Lovely overnight stay with work

The hotel grounds a stunning. The hotel also has great facilities, particularly the gym & spa. Had a lovely big room. While the hotel is well kept and there'd clearly been some refurbishment of areas, it's one of many hotels in the UK that's just past it's prime and needs a major refurbishment but on the whole still very nice.

I lovw the location and peace this Hotel offers. All i ask is for a comfortable, soft, bed. Unfortunately i spent half the two.nights awake, and in pain, due to a hard mattress. I wish toppers were an option.in all.hotels. otherwise, lovely hotel, nice pool and spa area. The breakfast was aberage. This mornings freshly cooked eggs and bacon wete almost inedible. The egg was cooked until the yolk was hard, and.the bacon was gard, eith flabby fat. The beans were overcooked. Just an honest review. Despote these monor irritations i would stayn again. But next time, ill bring a mattress topper!

Nights Getaway

We wanted to hav a little nights getaway so chose an area we alway have cherished. We decided to look for hotels we had not stayed at before and this one came up. First impressions when drove up WOW. Reception check in was quick and pleseant. Room was lovley and clean and spacious. Bathroom was clean and fresh. The leisure facilities where to our requirement. (Just little busy when we went) The breakfast room was very nice and had enough variety for all the family. The grounds where nice to have a look at and to have photos. They also had outside games for the kids. The hotel is very close to many shops, restaurants and activities, all 5-15min drive.

They try to bill you when you are half board

We arrived and the receptionist mixed up our keys but instead of just owning up and saying sorry, she they just acted confused and dragged it out and didn’t say oops or sorry, as if it was somehow our fault. We were a family of 4 in our superior room and we booked half board and asked reception what it included/didn’t include and they said it was £25 per person either in the oak room or the bar. It was a Sunday and a set menu in the oak room so you could choose one course for £20 or two courses for £30 or three courses. The waitress said we couldn’t use it for the children so I asked how we would feed our children as we had paid half board and budgeted that it would cover them. She was really off with us and said she would have to go and check with receptionist then. I said okay (why wouldn’t I) she then came back and said the children can have the kids menu but they don’t have the £25 allocation. We said that was okay. At this point we weren’t filled with excitement about eating there to be honest. Eventually, we got it out of them that my husband could take £5 of my allocation to get two courses. Another table were approached and asked if they wanted still or sparkling and then they were going to charge for it but the people said they didn’t ask for it. They just wanted still tap water. There was one nice waitress and chef who helped us have our dessert in the room because baby got tired. The next morning we went to check out and they wanted to bill us for breakfast!
