Great getaway!
This property is perfect for a small getaway! Loved that the bedrooms/bathrooms were on opposite sides of the home for privacy — especially when traveling with another couple. Our little loved having her own space upstairs in the loft with a bed and TV to herself. The driveway is steep, but nothing they didn’t warn us about! It’s very secluded. It’s not in one of those neighborhoods with tons of rentals, which is nice!

The cabin on the hill..
There's a happy childhood home in my memory I can see.
Standing out upon the hill 'neath the shadow of the tree.
If I only had my way it would give my heart a thrill.
Just to simply wander back to the cabin on the hill.
Oh I want to wander back to the cabin on the hill.
'Neath the shadow of the tree I would like to linger still.
Just to be with those I love joy my heart would over fill.
Just to simply wander back to the cabin on the hill.
Stand on the porch, close your eyes, and you hear Flatt and Scruggs in the distance... :-) You'd be a fool not to rent this cabin!

Not as the pictures show
When we walked in there was trash on the table by the door. The bed inside of the couch was broken. The tvs are very old, no Wi-Fi and no service. The driveway is awful. Two cars at most can fit there. The kitchen cabinet is broken and wood sticking out. The grill had no gas and there was hardly dishes to cook with like in the add. I don’t recommend this cabin for kids as a lot is broke and it’s no kid friendly. The bar is crappy and high up. The beds are uncomfortable as well. Like rocks. I felt like Patric off SpongeBob (sleeping under a rock). We almost stayed some place else. The address they gave us is wrong along with directions that left us looking for our cabin for 4 hours. I called to get someone on the phone and no one could help me. It’s not at the very top like they sent me. It’s to the left on a side road that has a different number and road name. The cabin name is the only thing that helped us find it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

Would never stay here again
When we arrived the cabin reeked of smoke. We were told that someone would be by to spray/deodorize the cabin but no one ever showed up. It definitely made our allergies worse.
The key pad entry was constantly making noises/going off. I was concerned that 1) it wouldn’t stay locked overnight and 2) it would continue to make noises all night, keeping my young children awake. We called and were assured that someone would be there that night to fix it. No one showed up until mid morning the next day.
The vrbo website promised that this cabin had internet access, unfortunately it did not.
Two of the TVs were missing remotes upon arrival. These were replaced the next morning.
There was definitely a bug issue in the cabin. We killed a cockroach, 5 wasps (including one that had found his way into my husband’s shoe), and a giant spider (3 inch diameter) in my children’s shower. We called the first night we were there, as well as the second day. Both times were told that an exterminator would come out to spray. When we called the third day, we were then told that they couldn’t do anything about it.
The ice maker did not work, but ice cube trays were provided. The wooden handle on the towel holder in the master bathroom was broken. There was an excessive amount of trash surrounding the property. When I called , they said an animal must have gotten into our outdoor trash can (we never used them) and promised they’d clean it up. It was still there when we checked out.
There are also a few wooden posts that are either missing or very loose on the deck/balcony which is very dangerous for guests, especially young children.
This cabin has potential but a lot of things need fixed...especially the communication. We have requested a partial refund and are still waiting to hear back....🤷♀️
In the meantime....stay somewhere else.
