This was a special experience which was on the top of the hill across from the St. John basilica. The room was small for three people but the breakfast was Beautiful and fresh. The staff was Great and hotel patio beyond beautiful with trees and plants and well lit at night. The extra touches in decorating was very nice and reflected the area nicely. Definitely a nice place to stay and We wish we could have stayed more than one night!

Another great choice on my recent travels. From the moment I was greeted with tea and information on the area until my last sip of coffee in the delightful courtyard, it was so enjoyable and exactly what I’d hoped for. Windows in room, slightly ajar, Arabian Jasmine fragrance permeating the air. Experienced owners are dedicated to their hospitality and managing their property very well. They even share their affiliated Turkish carpets gallery. Excellent breakfast served in the courtyard. Delightful staff. Perfect location for old town. Hope to stay again and enjoy more this wonderful place and people!!

LOVED the authentic Turkish furnishings and artwork. The courtyard is lovely, the room was very comfortable. It was a welcome immersion into the culture. No TV was fine. I would like to have been able to make coffee or tea on our own in the room itself... But - it would have been available if we'd requested. VERY nice breakfast. Helpful recommendations about Efes, And walking distance from the ruins of St. John Basilica, which was amazing!

Comfortable hotel with a great location

Perfect location; a 2-minute walk from St. John Basilica and a few minutes drive from the ancient city of Ephesus. It’s quite conveniently located in the middle of the city. Pamuçak beach is a 15-20 minute drive away. The hotel is well kept, clean, and beds are comfortable. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Three parking spots are available outside though if you have some idiot American park his car in a way that takes up two spots, it reduces the parking space available. Breakfast is pretty decent; tasty, but somewhat limited (perhaps understandable given the economic situation in Türkiye). But for comfort, location and service, this is a wonderful hotel. We had a very good stay.

The two owners, Nazmi and Erdal, are gracious, generous and experienced hoteliers and made our stay at Hotel Nilya and Selçuk/Ephesus a wonderful experience. We appreciated the advice and assistance they gave us, the breakfast and the extensive collection of Ottoman art a decor throughout.

Our stay at Nilya hotel was lovely. Nazmi and his team are super friendly. They even drove us to and picked us up from Ephesus, which was much appreciated. The location was excellent – it's only a few minutes walk to the main shopping area, and there's some great restaurants nearby. Highly recommend Sofas for dinner and Stairs coffee for the morning/afternoon coffee. It's also about three minutes to St John's Basilica. The included breakfast was delicious, especially the eggs! The only nitpicks would be the curtains don't do the best job of blocking out the outside hotel lights and the WiFi wasn't the best.

Hotel Nilya was my favorite stay on this trip. The hotel was tranquil and quaint. The beds were so comfortable. I absolutely love the sauna like showers that washed all my fatique away after the endless exploring of Ephesus. The host Nazmir was so helpful in making recommendations of what we should see first and where to eat. Trust his advice. We stayed here for 3 nights to see Ephesus, Pamukkale, Sirince, and House Mary. The hotel was easy to get to. Four of us took a flight from Istanbul to Izmir, then 1 hr train to Selcuk. It was a 10 min walk to hotel. Note to all travelers coming to Turkey, bring cash. Almost all restaurants, tours, transportation will ask for Liras or Euros. Some will take your credit card reluctantly.

I would like to particularly mention James, the staff who take care of me and my sisters from the time of checkin up to checkout. We checked in late at night and without any hesitation he prepared us a nice meal knowing that we were probably hungry at that time. At the time of checkout which was very early in the morning, he was there to take care of all our needs. Truly a wonderful human being and an invaluable asset to the hotel!!

Unique beautiful hotel. The owners are friendly and chatty. Will give you tons of information about Ephesus and the area, and provided a complementary drop off and pick up to and from the site. The included breakfast was simple, but delicious. Lots of fruit, jams, and breads. We stayed during a hot humid few days and the rooms don't have the best circulation, makes sleeping without AC at night difficult. All the rooms have AC.

Super stay close to so much history

The hotel is a superb Turkish style, very eclectic and well looked after. The hosts are brilliant and will provide you with information about the history of the area and the many hidden treasures. Location is a short distance (walk) to the castle and St John’s basilica, the Virgin Mary’s house is 5k away and Ephesus is a short drive. Plenty of places to eat in the town but don’t miss the breakfast. Definitely come back on the way home
