No Hot Water

Our first morning, we awoke to no hot water! Reportedly, both of their water heaters failed on the same day, although I suspect that 1 of them had already failed and they had neglected to repair it, based on the general condition of the property. It does not appear to be well maintained. One of the finials on the curtain rod in our room was held on with blue painters tape. They offered us a free breakfast for having no hot water, but we already had breakfast plans elsewhere. Either way, that was insufficient compensation. Hot water was not available until later that afternoon. The bed was kind of saggy, and overall the hotel looked tired. I won’t stay here again.

Although this inn is a historic property, and the downstairs was beautiful...it was not well taken care of. The carpeting was old and torn on the edges, the furniture in the room was old and had rips, there were stains on the comforter, the windows faced the main road (Broadway) and we could hear EVERYTHING outside all night. The TV frequently would lose the connection as we watched at night, and the last day there was no hot water in the building, so we couldn't take showers before leaving (they did comp our breakfast charges back to us and we were told to let Expedia know and they would approve a discount). The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the location was great-- about a 5 minute walk to town. I would not stay here again. I think they rely on the location and just don't make any updates or maintain it very well.

Charming old-world ambience. My room had a king-sized poster bed which some people would need a step ladder to get on (I'm not tall, but am agile!), but very comfortable. Some rooms need more logical placement of outlets for lights and electronics; other rooms are up to date. The ambience is friendly and the staff are excellent. Plus, it's so convenient to downtown and for leaving city center.

Beautiful Inn

Its a great old inn, with an ornate eating area. The room was kind of dark with just two small lights. There was a bit of confusion with our room not having been cleaned when we arrived, which was no big deal

Great place to stay with historic vibes.

Beautiful, historic hotel. Definitely a step back in time. If you like the modern vibe and associated amenities, this is not your place. We loved the step back in time. Staff were friendly and welcoming. It was quiet, clean, comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. We had a terrific time and will definitely stay here again.
