Very few times will you have the opportunity to stay in a hotel property that's 500+ years old. The building and grounds are beautiful, the bar and restaurant are very good, and the staff is fantastic. The rooms are rudimentary in keeping with the colonial decor. You are essentially staying in a 500 year old structure, after all. But they are clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are late 80s/early 90s style luxury, but well maintained and spotless.

The hotel was beautiful and in a perfect location in the colonial district of Santo Domingo I liked the sitting area in the pool area. There were, round tables under trees lit up at night so we had a place to play games.

The room was great. The front desk staff and the porters were wonderful. The service in the restaurants was not great. The massage service was poorly organized. The person in the bar supposed to be serving. Customers spent all of her time looking at her cell phone and ignoring everybody providing the minimum service requirement

The property is pretty, all staff very friendly and helpful. So much history in the area all at walking distance. Everything is spotless and the room with a 4 poster king size bed was very beautiful.
