An excellent low frills budget friendly base from which to explore santa fe. Right by the railyard district, and a 20ish minute walk to historical plaza. Right by a Whole Foods for shopping convenience. Very respectable little restaurant and bar on site with chill outdoor seating. The 15 buck "experience fee" does actually add value thru breakfast and shuttle, so worth it.

We have been to Santa Fe more times than I can count and stayed at other hotels ($$$$) but always find ourselves coming back to The Sage. You really can’t beat the price. The rooms are always extremely clean and the staff is very friendly. This time I used the pool and loved it!

The good: The room was priced well. The complimentary breakfast was great with lots of options and scrambled eggs were actually edible! The sad: We requested a pet-friendly room, as we had our little dog with us. The room was not clean and pretty worn in many areas, including an inner door lock that was loose and not secure at all. The floor was grimy and the entire room was very stuffy and smelled overwhelmingly like a wet dog. I wonder if the bathroom, etc. hadn't been cleaned after another guest bathed their pet in it. That's how bad it smelled! Very run down overall, very uncomfortable beds and scratchy linens. Maybe they put guests with pets in rooms they're planning to upgrade soon. In any event, we often stay in pet rooms and this was not up to the usual standard.

Front desk experience was terrible, front desk agent informed us that they are not required to share additional fees with 3rd party reservations. Place is under some kind of construction. Pool is out of order, grounds are dirty.

Very dated hotel. Ugly, small bathroom with trickling shower head. Noisy, as could hear overhead footsteps all evening. Would not stay here again. The staff was wonderful, however !

Breakfast wasn't gluten or dairy free, except for potato's. Didn't love having to pay $15 a day for a breakfast I couldn't eat. Neighbors upstairs were super loud at all hours. Lesson learned, only stay on top floor. Tried food at restaurant. Tacos came with cheese but wasn't listed on menu. Returned them as it took so long the first time, didn't want to wait that long again. Pool wasn't opened even though it was warm enough to at least lounge by the pool. It is close to Railyard and plaza.
