It was very nice…we got the renovated rooms. Restaurant bar prices too expensive for the type of hotel it is. Would like coffee available early mornings…6 am.

The staff was excellent. Went out of their way to make you comfortable. Some rooms had comfortable beds and all the amenities other rooms were lacking. Quilts on the beds would have been nice.

Good location right on the beach. Nice pull up a restaurant service can be dodgy, but food is decent. Probably the worst margaritas we’ve ever had but it was late at night and might not even have been a bartender making them. It’s very central and the folks at the hotel are friendly Sometimes the front and staff don’t speak any English at all so it helps if you have a little bit of Spanish. We’ve stayed here three times the rooms are very basic, but they are nice and clean and everybody has a little balcony.

Good location on the beach.

No wifi in the room for my devices but my partner somehow had access. Room was closest to the restaurant and noisy one morning when they set up metal table tops for a function. Rooms small but very clean. The restaurant was wonderful in the morning for breakfast.

This hotel is beachfront, which counts with a restaurant with an ocean view. For the most part, the grounds and room were quite clean, and with a relaxed and quiet environment. The room had very good A/C after being out in the heat all day and the beds were comfortable. There was no hot water in my room, which I can live with, and the WiFi was virtually non-existent. Overall, I’d recommend staying at this hotel.

No wifi on 3rd floor! Young people beside us partied all night and security did nothing! I finally had to walk down to front desk at 2:30AM and ask for help! They then went out in the street and continued! Then at 7:00 AM kids started yelling and screaming in the pool!!!

My experience was with two different rooms. Initially I was in a street facing room that was rather gloomy and had lots of street noise. I asked if I could be changed to an ocean facing room and they were able to accommodate me within three days for the remainder of my three week stay at no extra cost. The difference was night and day. My new room, 317, had much larger window space to lighten the room and my spirits, with a view of palm trees, beach and sea, there was a little balcony with a table and two chairs and, although the El Dorado says they do not have small in-room fridges, there was a small fridge in this room – a bonus! That being said, the room was still very basic, no light over the main room mirror, no hairdryer in the bathroom, nor a glass to use as a toothbrush glass. I was grateful for the two small bottles of water each day and daily housekeeping. The bed was firm but more comfortable than the hard bed in my initial room. My biggest disappointment was that Expedia‘s description of this hotel said they spoke both English and Spanish and, in fact, throughout my three-week stay there was never anyone at the front desk who spoke English. Very awkward and tedious to try to communicate through my phone’s translator app.
