Cozy off-grid cabin with direct views of active volcano - from CDMX or PUEBLA

ACCESSIBLE FROM CDMX OR PUEBLA

Casa Copilli is a thoughtfully crafted cabin set between the iconic volcanoes of Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, along the scenic Paso de Cortés between Mexico City and Puebla.

The cabin is fully off-grid, powered by solar energy, with no cell service and accessed by a dirt road—an intentional setting designed for complete disconnection and immersion in nature.

At 12,100 feet above sea level, Casa Copilli offers a rare high-alpine experience with the comfort of a refined stay. Unlike most destinations where you only reach these elevations briefly, here you settle into it—waking amongst bird song, breathing crisp mountain air, and ending the day under clear, star-filled skies.

Your host, will personally greet you on arrival, guide you along the final stretch of the road, and walk you through everything you need—so your experience feels seamless from the start.

This is not a typical stay. It’s a rare opportunity to experience Mexico from a completely different perspective—elevated, quiet, and deeply connected to the landscape.

THE SPACE
The cabin features thoughtfully curated textiles and artisan pieces sourced from across Mexico, creating a space that feels both refined and grounded. Designed for comfort without sacrificing character, every detail has been chosen to elevate your stay—offering not just accommodation, but a more intentional, immersive experience.

GUEST ACCESS, IMPORTANT

From Mexico City: Arrive to Amecameca, 1 hour drive along road + 15 minutes unpaved.
From Cholula, Puebla: 1 hour drive along road + 15 minutes unpaved.

IMPORTANT - CHECK IN TIME:
Between
3:00pm-6:30pm (spring/summer)
3:00pm-5:30pm (fall/winter)

We are happy to extend an early check-in whenever possible at no extra cost. Arrival time must be confirmed at least one day in advance, as there is no phone signal in the mountains. This is not a hotel with a reception—your host will meet you at a designated point. If your arrival time isn’t coordinated or changes unexpectedly, it will be difficult to connect. We offer a 1.5-hour grace period for check-in based on the previously agreed time. After that, an additional charge of $500 pesos will apply for every extra hour.

Check-in must take place within the times listed above (unless early check-in extended). Thank you for your understanding — all of this is to ensure your arrival is safe, smooth, and in harmony with the natural surroundings.
