I was beyond impressed by the hotel. I truly want to recognize Lucia (at the reception) and Paulo/Pablo (at the bell desk) for making our check-in fast and easy.
✅ Hotel is truly deserves Five stars⭐ - from the lobby, to the decors, to statues, and interior aesthetics -- everything was well thought of.
✅ Hotel room was large with sufficient space for storage and shower.
✅ I loved the unique shower head which had rotating jet sprays. I have never seen this before.
✅ The bathroom had toothbrush kit, shaving kit, etc.
✅ A/C worked just as expected.
✅ The buffet breakfast at Anfora was beyond exceptional
✅ We also had our dinner at Anfora - pasta and Pizzas are reasonably priced.
✅ I strongly suggest getting halfboard option when booking which gives access to private lounge on 6th floor. The lounge has quick bite with sitting area and board games.
❌ I wished the hotel had better signage. Waze drove us through north/east (Calle 54 or Calle 25) and we missed seeing the hotel and had to go around before actually spotting it.
ℹ️ The TV did not seem to offer any smart apps (no YouTube/Netflix etc). It offers HBO, Cinemax, CNN, etc but they are all in Spanish -- and no option for English closed captions.
Overall my family had great time at Barcelo San Jose and would stay here again in our next trip.
