Hotel “policies” are not what’s expected or provided at a five star hotel and impacts service and experience in a way that’s completely unnecessary.
I asked the bartender for a cup of ice. I was refused but kindly informed I could purchase a small bucket of ice for 5 euro. That’s their policy.
At the pool bar I asked to refill my reusable water bottle. I was again refused but kindly informed I could buy a bottle of water. The woman working was standing next to a giant cooler of ice water but refused to let me refill my bottle. I was told their policy is not to give it to guests because it’s only for staff.
I needed a towel after getting out of the pool but the man working wouldn’t give me one. He told me their policy is only to swap out a dirty towel. Standing there cold and wet I was refused a towel by a man sitting next to a pile of 100 fresh towels.
